Orientation Program by Sankalp IAS Academy for IAS Aspirants at College
An orientation program for IAS aspirants was organized by Sankalp IAS Academy at Nalanda College of Arts and Science, Perla in association with Nalanda Charitable Trust. The program was inaugurated by the Working Chairman of Sankalp IAS Academy, K. V. Jayarajan Master. Speaking as the chief guest and inaugurator, he emphasized the importance of preparing for the UPSC examination. He stated that students can achieve success in the UPSC examination through determination, consistent study, and proper guidance. He also provided comprehensive information about opportunities available in the IAS and other central government services. The Course Coordinator of Sankalp IAS Academy, Harigovind, participated as the resource person and guided students on the structure of the UPSC examination, study methods, time management, and strategies for success. The welcome and introductory address was delivered by the Administrative Secretary of Nalanda College, Dr. Jayagovinda Ukkinadka. The program was presided over by the Honorary President of Nalanda College, Kajampadi Subrahmanya Bhat.

On this occasion, teacher Prabhakaran Nair from Navajeevana Higher Secondary School, Badiadka, the Principal of Nalanda College Shankara Khandige, management members, special invitees, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students were present. Mrs. Anupama, Lecturer in the Department of Arts, compered the program. The Head of the Department of Arts, Mrs. Ashalatha, delivered the vote of thanks.

The program played an important role in inspiring and motivating students to aspire for higher civil services, including the IAS.

Vande Mataram 150 Program Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm

As part of the 150th anniversary of the song Vande Mataram, the “Vande Mataram 150” program was held in a grand manner. Organized with the objective of strengthening patriotic spirit, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from dignitaries and students. The chief guest of the program, Rajesh Padmar, lecturer and Prant Prachar Pramukh of the Southern Region of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, explained the historical significance of the song Vande Mataram. He said that during the freedom struggle, Vande Mataram served as a spark that ignited patriotism among freedom fighters. He movingly described how the song became a symbol of nationalism and guided people on the path of unity. Presiding over the function, Kajampady Subrahmanya Bhat said that Vande Mataram is not merely a song but the very soul of Indians. He expressed hope that such programs would help the younger generation understand the history and values of the nation. The welcome address was delivered by the Principal of Nalanda College, Shankara Khandige, who stated that the Vande Mataram 150 program is an important platform to nurture patriotism among students. The program was compered by Ashalatha, Head of the Department of Economics, who also delivered the vote of thanks. Among those present were Balakrishna Neerchalu, District Pramukh of Kasaragod of the Southern Region of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and member of Manthana Badiyadka, members of the Nalanda College management, lecturers, and students. The program concluded with patriotic slogans and a collective rendition of the song Vande Mataram.

Kalavirunnu 2K26

The Entrepreneurship Development Club organized a combined food fest, mehandi fest and film fest titled, 'Kalavirunnu 2K26' on 23rd January 2026. The Food Fest was conducted in two categories: Cooking with Fire and Cooking without Fire, followed by judging and sale of food items. A Mehandi competition was also conducted and evaluated by judges. Prizes were distributed to the winners of both the Food and Mehndi competitions. The event concluded with a Film Fest in the afternoon.
The programme witnessed active participation from students and was successfully conducted.

Annual Sports Meet
The Annual Sports Meet was conducted at Nalanda College of Arts and Science, Perla. The programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Kusumavathi B., President of Enmakaje Grama Panchayat, by handing over the sports flag to the participants. In her inaugural address, Mrs. Kusumavathi B. emphasized that physical health is as important as mental health and opined that students should actively participate in sports and physical activities along with their academic pursuits. She stated that sports help in developing discipline, cooperation, leadership qualities, and self-confidence.
Students from various departments enthusiastically participated in several sports events, including track and field competitions. The Principal of the college, Mr. Shankara Khandige, presided over the programme and highlighted the importance of physical fitness along with academics in student life.
The Annual Sports Meet concluded successfully, reinforcing the importance of a healthy lifestyle and the overall development of students. The teaching faculty, staff, and students contributed to the success of the programme. The event was compered and the welcome address was delivered by Mrs. Ashwini K. B., Lecturer in the Commerce Department and Sports Meet Coordinator. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Shilpa, Lecturer in the English Department.

7 Day's Special Camping Program
The Nss Unit of Nalanda college Perla has organized a seven days special camp from Dec 23rd to Dec 29th at AUP school Yethadka. Focusing on Youth for rural integrity.
On 23rd Dec camp was inaugurated by Sri.Satheesh Chandra Bhandary Kolar member college governing council Nalanda College Perla & presided by sri Shamana Kandige member of governing council Nalanda college Perla with the presence of Sri Shankra Kandige principal Nalanda college Perla ,Sri Varsh*th K NSS programme officer, Sri Shridhar Manager AUPS Yethadka, Sri Rajarama kunjar head master AUP School Yethadka, PTA president MPTA president AUP Yethadka, ADS president , secretary CDS member, Kutumbashree member of Yethadka Grama Panchayath, Staff members of Nalanda college & volunteers.
Inaugural ceremony done with the camp objectives, motivational speech of guests. The day ended with an ice breaking session & formation of activity groups.

On 24th Dec, manual works was inaugurated by Smt Nayana R, member Kumbdaje grama panchayath. As part of manual work volunteer cleaned Yethadka Puthrakala road. Constructed steps to the school park also cleaned Yethadka Anganwadi with the guidance of programme officer. An HRD class on “The operations of NSS & leadership skills in Youth” was delivered by Dr. Rathnakara Mallamoole professor & national awarded programme officer, Govt college Kasragod. The day was ended with an cultural programme organized by NSS volunteers with presence of programme officer, staff & villagers.
On 25th Dec volunteers cleaned Yethadka Puthrakala road, an HRD class on “Importance of Health & Hygiene in youth” was delivered by Sri Rajesh Nambiar Health inspector Kumbdaje FHC. The day ended with an cultural programme organized by NSS volunteer.
On 26th Dec volunteers cleaned Kailasanagar road till noon, after that an Anti drug abuse Rally was done by the students with the presence of programme officer & villagers, in Yethadka town targeting school & the surrounding community. at 6 PM volunteers organized cultural programme.
On 27th Dec volunteers cleaned Kailasnagar road sides, removed plastics from the surroundings. After lunch an HRD class on “Anti drug” was delivered by the Civil excise officer Sri Janardhan N.
On 28th Dec volunteers cleaned Kootelu river belonging to Yethadka town till 10.30 after that beautification of school park was done by the volunteers at 2:00 Pm volunteers visited to Kumara Nivas farm Yethadka. The day was ended with overall camp review delivered by each volunteers with the presence of programme officer, Principal & other staff members.

On the 29th Dec Sanitization of school was done by the volunteers in the morning. The project work taken by the NSS Unit 49 was successfully completed by volunteers of Nalanda college Perla.The camp was concluded afternoon of 29th Dec. Dr. Jayagovinda Ukkinadka, secretary, college governing council, NCAS Perla presided in the valedictory ceremony. Panchyath member & convener of camp organizing committee, Mrs Nayana P, participated in the programme as a guest. Balakrishna K K, chairman of camp organizing committee, college principal Sri Shankara Kandige, Yethadka school head master Sri Rajarama Kunjar, NSS programme officer & staff members were present.

On January 7, 2026, a Career Guidance Programme was held at College . The event featured Resource Person Dr. Yashas Saipangallu, a Squadron Leader, who is currently a Graded Specialist in Internal Medicine at Airforce Hospital Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Dr. Yashas Saipangallu discussed the concept "Everyone follow the same path, dare to choose something different." He highlighted one of the least preferred but highly paid jobs with lots of facilities - the Defence Force. He provided in-depth information about the selection process, future opportunities, and extra facilities, and addressed students' fears and doubts.

The informative and interactive session was attended by NSS Coordinator and HOD of Commerce Mr. Varsh*th, Placement Coordinator and Assistant Professor in Commerce Mrs. Nayana, senior faculty member and assistant professor in Malayalam Mrs. Veenisha , teaching staff, and students. Mrs. Nayana hosted the event, Anagha (2nd BCom) gave the vote of thanks, and Mrs. Veenisha handed over the memento to the Resource Person.
