As central university of Kerala launches master of social work in the department of social work under the school of social sciences, ( the academic programme of the university) we are fulfilling to significant objectives of the university as enunciated in the act which established the university: (i) to educate and train manpower for the development of the country, (ii) to pay a special attention
to the improvement of the social and economic conditions and welfare of the people, their intellectual, academic and cultural development
The commencement of department of the social work validates the need of central university in Kasaragod. Its vision and mission is to remedy the ills of the social environment and enrich the quality of life in the surrounding society in a holistic manner. Our academic programme has been designed with an updated curriculum charged with the relevance to the current pedagogical and research trends in the discipline of social work; the social service needs of the country, and job requirements of the times. Built with its essence is a commitment to serve society and equip every individual in an urge to be the change that he\ she wants to make in society. Its theory and practicum contain remarkable incentives for nation building through understanding and serving the community.
