Fu Chao-hsuan has clinched Taiwan’s first gold in athletics at the 2026 Asian Games.
Fu cleared 2.25 meters, matching his season best, on his first attempt in the men’s high jump event. He beat out India’s Sarvesh Kushare Anil, who cleared the same height but on his second attempt, and South Korea’s Woo Sanghyeok, whose highest clearance was 2.22 meters.
Competing as Chinese Taipei, Taiwan has claimed 29 medals: three gold, seven silver and 19 bronze.

Tamsui is a perfect mix of scenic views, history, food, and local culture. 🌅 Explore Tamsui Old Street, visit the historic Fort San Domingo, enjoy a relaxing walk along the Tamsui Riverside, and head to Lover’s Bridge and Fisherman’s Wharf for beautiful sunset views.
🚇 How to get there
Take the Taipei Metro Red Line (Tamsui–Xinyi Line) and ride all the way to Tamsui Station. From Taipei Main Station, it takes roughly 40 minutes.
Best time: Go in the late afternoon and stay until sunset.
