Proud share that our alumnus Dr. K. K. Ramachandran has been appointed as the Executive Vice President of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE). The appointment was announced by the Hon'ble Chief Minister, Shri V. D. Satheeshan, while briefing the media on the decisions taken at today's Cabinet meeting.

Prior to this appointment, Dr. Ramachandran served as the Member Secretary of KSCSTE. He has had a distinguished scientific career spanning more than 37 years at the National Centre for Earth Science Studies (NCESS), Thiruvananthapuram, where he served as Scientist and Group Head. Earlier, he also held the position of Member Secretary of the Kerala State Coastal Zone Management Committee, making significant contributions to coastal management and environmental governance in Kerala.

Dr. Ramachandran obtained his Master's degree in Marine Geology from the  Cochin University of Science and Technology during 1980–1982, securing First Rank. He was awarded the Ph.D. degree by the CUSAT in 1993. He has also been associated with CUSAT as a member of the Board of Studies in the Department of Marine Geo  Environmental Sciences and Marine Geology, contributing to the development of academic programmes and curriculum in these disciplines.
