19 AUG 2019. Photographic Association of Kolasib District (Zoom Kolasib) observes World Photography Day at Government Kolasib College.
Zoom Kolasib had in its OB and EC meetings proposed and ratified observation of 180th World Photography Day 2019. For the first time, the association approached the Principal of the College with a proposal to conduct a photography seminar. The first talk would cover simple basics of photography. The second talk would be address photography ethics in relation to social media.
The Principal of the College, Dr C. Lalmuankima, after consulting senior colleagues, agreed to the proposal. However, due to the constraint of seating space, it was decided that the seminar would be for Semester III and V students, in Hall No. 2.
The opening session, chaired by Coordinator IQAC Pu T. Zahmingliana, was the introductory session, at which Mr Johnny Lalmuanpuia briefly introduced World Photography Day, the members of Zoom Kolasib in attendance, and what the association intended with the seminar. An official welcome to members of Zoom Kolasib and members of the media was offered by the Principal Dr C. Lalmuankima in his address.
In the seminar session, chaired by Mr Christopher Lawlor, Associate Professor and ECM Zoom, a talk on Basic Photography by Mr R. Lalhmingthanga, Vice President, Zoom Kolasib was followed by a talk on Photography Ethics vis-a-vis Social Media by Mr Stephen Auhmun, Adviser, Zoom Kolasib.
The day was concluded by establishing the Photography Club of Government Kolasib College, with Mr Christopher Lawlor as its Professor In-Charge.
In his concluding statements and vote of thanks, Mr Lawlor reciprocated thanks between Zoom Kolasib and the administration of Government Kolasib College, and also thanked members of the Mizoram Journalists' Association and sfudents who attended the seminar. Students interested in joining the Photography Club were asked to submit their personal and contact details to Mrs Sangdingliani, LDC.
