The Department of Performing Arts, Presidency University Kolkata is organizing a 'Kathak' workshop under the 'Nrityam' Series conducted by Guru Sri Sandip Mallick on 20.04.2026, Monday in the Dance Studio. The Department of Performing Arts and the Department of Bengali, Presidency University, Kolkata in collaboration is organizing the “Natya Chintan Shibir” – নাট্য চিন্তন শিবির a long run phase wise program focusing on theatrical production. The phase – 2 of the program is to be held on 17.04.2025, Thursday in the Derozio Hall.

The phase-2 will be presented by the ‘Ashokenagar Nattyamukh’ under the guidance and direction of Sri Avi Chakraborty. The shibir starts from 13.00 hours. The full-fledged Bengali play ‘Vemular Ramayan’ will be staged from 15.00 hours.

The Department of Performing Arts and the Department of Bengali, Presidency University, Kolkata in collaboration is organizing the “Natya Chintan Shibir” – নাট্য চিন্তন শিবির a long run phase wise program focusing on theatrical production. The phase – 1 of the program is to be held on 08.04.2025, Tuesday in the Derozio Hall.

The phase-1 will be presented by the ‘Theatre Repertoire of Rabindra Bharati University’ under the guidance and direction of Dr. Gagandeep from Rabindra Bharati University. The shibir starts from 13.00 hours. The full-fledged Bengali play ‘Jhilimili Ankabanka’ will be staged from 15.00 hours.

The Department of Performing Arts is organising a dance workshop cm demonstration named "Nrityam" - the dance workshop series on 24.03.2025 and 26.04.2025 at 13.00 hours in Derozio Hall. The resource person is Thokchom Imocha Singh . We welcome you all to the said event.

About Thokchom Imocha Singh : (Poster attached)

Thokchom Imocha Singh is a very accomplished artiste of the Thang-Ta Martial Art Form of Manipur. He was trained by eminent Gurus from a very young age and is the recipient of the prestigious Bismillah Khan Award from the Sangeet Natak Akademi, Ministry of Culture, Government of India in 2006. Since 2000 he is the Head of Thang-Ta Department at Anjika, Centre for Manipuri Dance, Kolkata and Imphal under Founder-Director Priti Patel.

The Department of Performing Arts, Presidency University Kolkata is organising a cross cultural performance demonstration on 16.01.2025 at 14.30 hours in Derozio Hall. ‘The Three Seas’ is an international band that converges from diverse cultural backgrounds, bound by a profound love for music and a shared commitment to crafting transcendent sonic experiences. At the helm of The Three Seas is Australian composer and saxophonist, Matt Keegan. Fronting the ensemble is Baul singer Raju Das. Darjeeling-born singer and multi-instrumentalist, Deoashish Mothey, adds depth with his soulful vocals and sound effects in a Himalayan style. Drummer Gaurab Chatterjee, renowned for his contributions to Bengali rock giants Lakkhichhara. Live performances by the band serve as gateways to a mystical realm, inviting audiences to immerse themselves in an otherworldly journey. The program will be concluded by a student performance.
