Massive congratulations to our brilliant minds from the Department of Microbiology, St. Paul's Cathedral Mission College! 🦠🔬

They recently participated in a competition during the Celebration of the 101st Foundation Day of the Indian Chemical Society.

This prestigious event was organized by the Indian Chemical Society, Kolkata, and held on May 09, 2026, at the Auditorium of Meghnad Saha Bhavan, Kolkata.

Here is the most incredible part: Our superstar trio were the ONLY undergraduate students in the entire competition! Going toe-to-toe with seasoned PhD scholars and Assistant Professors, they didn't just participate - they conquered, bringing home the 3rd Prize! 🥉✨

Please join us in giving a massive round of applause to our trailblazers:

🎓 Arya Bandyopadhyay
🎓 Sayani Ghosh
🎓 Debalina Sarkar

You have proven that degree levels are no match for pure talent, hard work, and scientific curiosity.

You've set a massive benchmark and inspired every undergraduate student out there.

The future of science is in great hands! 🌟👏

🌟 Proud Moment for SPCMC! 🌟

For the first time ever, students of Dept. Of Microbiology, St. Paul’s Cathedral Mission College have published a review paper in the Archives of Microbiology (Springer Nature Impact 2.6) under the invaluable mentorship of Prof. Abhishek Das Sir. 🧬📚

Their review article, “Intersections of ABO blood group, secretor status, and the gut microbiome: implications for disease susceptibility and therapeutics,” explores how genetics and microbiome composition are interconnected — paving the way for future breakthroughs in precision medicine and microbial research.

💫 Congratulations to Arya Bandyopadhyay, Debalina Sarkar, and Anneswa Das for this incredible achievement!

Here’s to many more milestones ahead for Team SPCMC! 🙌✨
