Techno Bengal Institute of Technology proudly organized HUMAN 2026, the 4th Doctoral Symposium on Human-Centered Computing, in collaboration with the Computer Society of India (CSI), Kolkata Chapter, and the Department of CSE (AI & ML), Techno BIT, on 28-29 March 2026.
The theme of HUMAN 2026, "Agentic Human Intelligence," explored in this edition, how AI is evolving from passive systems into intelligent agents capable of planning, adapting, and collaborating with humans.
The inauguration ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, accompanied by enchantings of students, in the presence of distinguished dignitaries. Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group, attended as Guest of Honour, while Padma Shri Prof. Sankar Kumar Pal, ANRF Prime Minister Professor, GoI, at IIIT Bhubaneswar, President and Emeritus Professor, Indian
Statistical Institute, Kolkata, Distinguished Scientist and Former Director, ISI, AICTE Distinguished Chair Professor, was present as Chief Guest and Plenary Speaker. Dr. N.C. Ghosh, Director of Techno BIT, and Dr. Shanta Phani, Principal of TBIT, extended a warm welcome to the gathering.
The tone of the symposium was set by the visionary insights of Dr. J. K. Mandal, former Vice Chancellor of Raiganj University; Prof. Amlan Chakrabarti, Chairman of CSI Kolkata Chapter; and Prof. Debashis De from MAKAUT, who shared their perspectives on AI and computational intelligence. Dr. Jyoti Sekhar Banerjee, HoD of CSE (AI & ML) of Techno BIT and Program Chair of HUMAN 2026, presented an overview of the conference, which received 550 research paper submissions from India and across the globe.
