The Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) is a determining initiative organised under the National Cadet Corps(NCC). Aimed at introducing the cadets to camp life, fostering a sense of team spirit, developing leadership qualities, it serves as one of the most comprehensive training for building an overall character and discipline of the cadets.

The CATC KC-2 Camp, held from 20th May to 29th May 2026 at Bhangar Mahavidyalaya was organised by 33 Bengal Battalion NCC. Several cadets from different institutions took part in this camp among which the cadets of Asutosh College performed with unbeaten determination and spirit.

Various events were held as a part of the IBC-TSC which involved Obstacle Training, Health and Hygiene, Judging distance and Field Signals, Map Reading, Firing and Tent pitching. CDT Asmita Chakraborty and CDT Uttama Basu participated and excelled in the Health and Hygiene event. Both of them made a remarkable dedication to their work and performed well at all theoretical tasks which further enhanced their knowledge and communication skills.

This Camp proved to be a valuable learning experience for all participating cadets, helping them strengthen their discipline, confidence, and teamwork. We wish our cadets continued success in future endeavours.

"Service Before Self"

The Hospital Attachment Camp under the Army Medical Corps, organized by 41 Bengal Battalion at Command Hospital (Eastern Command), Kolkata, from 13th May to 23rd May, 2026, was a truly enriching and transformative experience for the cadets of Ashutosh College NCC.

CDT Parthik Mondal and CDT Priyashree Ghosh proudly represented Ashutosh College NCC and successfully participated in the camp.

Under the guidance of the Training JCO, Medical Officers, and Nursing Officers, the cadets underwent intensive training in Basic Life Support (BLS), First Aid, patient care, and essential medical procedures. One of the most valuable aspects of the camp was the opportunity to interact closely with serving Army medical personnel, gaining firsthand insight into military healthcare, professionalism, and the spirit of selfless service.

The dedicated participation of cadets reflected their enthusiasm to learn, adaptability, discipline, and teamwork throughout the camp.The camp concluded with a formal assessment. However, its greatest achievement lay in the values it instilled. Through rigorous training and strict discipline, the cadets developed resilience, composure under pressure, responsibility, and a deeper appreciation for the indispensable role of the Army Medical Corps in serving the nation.

Ashutosh College NCC congratulates both cadets on successfully completing the Hospital Attachment Camp and wishes them continued success in their NCC journey.

"Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment."

The Army Attachment Camp under 19 Sikh LI Infantry, Barrackpore, conducted at Akhand Unnees from 13th–24th May, was a truly enriching and transformative experience for the cadets of Ashutosh College NCC.

Under the guidance of the Training JCO and NCC ANOs, cadets underwent intensive training in weapon handling, FPV drone operations, precision drill, and tactical manoeuvres. One of the most valuable aspects of the camp was the opportunity to interact closely with serving Army personnel, gaining firsthand insight into military life, professionalism, and operational readiness.

The camp also featured spirited competitions: the Tug of War team secured first place; the volleyball squad, comprising JUO Aniket Chettri, CDT Martin Sarkar, and CDT Milon Gharami, clinched an impressive second place; and CDT Raunak Basu Choudhury with CDT Manjarul Alam showcased excellent coordination in tent pitching. The final day concluded with a vibrant cultural programme highlighting the cadets' talents in drawing and dancing.

The activity award ceremony celebrated these efforts, but the true takeaway was the mastery of discipline and mental resilience. Through gruelling daily drills, the cadets learned to maintain absolute composure, think clearly under duress, and execute tasks with stability even under immense pressure. The camp forged unbreakable bonds of brotherhood and strong character. Congratulations were extended to all participants for rising to the challenge.

Excellence is not achieved in a day - it is earned through years of discipline, perseverance, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to one's goals.

Ashutosh College NCC proudly congratulates SGT Isha Pradhan on being recognized as the Best Cadet, a distinction that reflects not only outstanding performance but also the values and spirit of the National Cadet Corps.

Throughout her NCC journey, she has demonstrated dedication, resilience, and leadership. From rigorous training sessions and challenging camps to moments that demanded determination and character, she has consistently upheld the highest standards expected of an NCC cadet.

The Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) is one of the most important and foundational training programs conducted under the National Cadet Corps (NCC). It is aimed at grooming cadets in the values of discipline, leadership, teamwork, and self-reliance through structured military and cultural training. These camps help cadets develop both physical endurance and mental resilience.

The CATC KC- 1 Camp, held from 1st May to 10th May 2026 at Kanchrapara Airforce Base and was organized by 20 Bengal Battalion NCC. Cadets from various institutions participated with great enthusiasm, and Asutosh College cadets made their mark with outstanding performances in multiple categories.

In the Guard of Honour, CDT KRIPA ADHIKARI excelled out with her drill and presentation in the presence Of our Group Commander, Commodore Ceaser Basu and our Commanding Officer Col. Samir Mohite sir. Also, in the DST competition she delivered an impressive performance and secured a Good Position.

In the Drawing Competition, CDT Priyasree secured 1st position for her dedication towards the topic "OPERATION SINDOOR"

CDT Matin Sarkar, CDT Saikat Bhunia and CDT Milon Gharami gave the hardest competition to other cadets which reflects their hard work and capability.

This camp not only highlighted the talents of our cadets but also reinforced the spirit of unity and discipline that defines NCC. We congratulate all participating cadets and look forward to many more milestones ahead.

“Service Before Self — carrying the pride of the nation beyond borders.”

Senior Under Officer Rajashree Sahoo was selected to represent India at the prestigious Youth Exchange Programme (YEP) in Mauritius, a testament to her dedication, discipline, and consistent excellence as an NCC cadet.

The selection for YEP is a rigorous, merit-based process involving multiple levels of screening, where only the most deserving cadets—those who truly embody the spirit and values of NCC—are chosen to represent the nation on an international platform.

During the programme, she actively participated in various cultural and official engagements, proudly showcasing India’s rich heritage and unity in diversity. She also had the honour of interacting with distinguished dignitaries, including the Hon’ble Minister of Youth and Sports of Mauritius and senior officials, strengthening cultural and diplomatic ties.

Her conduct, confidence, and discipline reflected the highest standards of NCC, leaving a lasting impression throughout the programme. This experience not only enhanced cross-cultural understanding but also fostered global friendships and mutual respect.

From Senior Under Officer to a future Lieutenant - a journey defined by discipline, resilience, and unwavering commitment.

Ex–Senior Under Officer Priyangshu Deb has been selected through NCC Special Entry and is set to join the Officers Training Academy (OTA) Chennai.

From the drill ground to the Services Selection Board, his journey stands as a testament to consistency, leadership, and determination. He has led from the front, set benchmarks for others, and embodied the qualities expected of a future officer. His presence and guidance have left a lasting impact on the unit.

Parasailing, as part of NCC Adventure Activities, is aimed at developing confidence, courage, and adaptability among cadets through exposure beyond routine training.
As part of an Air Wing–organised adventure training programme, four cadets from Asutosh College NCC participated in parasailing conducted at Behala Flying Club on 17th January 2026.
Such activities play a vital role in enhancing leadership qualities, self-belief, and overall personality development of NCC cadets.
