A webinar on “Orofacial Pain- A new specialty: Bridging the gap between Medicine & Dentistry” was successfully organized by Department of Prosthodontics, Kusum Devi Sunderlal Dugar Jain Dental College & Hospital on 7th of August 2026 through online zoom platform. The program was organized with the objective of providing faculties, students and alumni of our college with a platform for continuous learning and academic exchange.

The webinar featured an expert invited speaker, Dr Sumit Gupta who is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain and an accomplished international speaker on orofacial pain. He is having his clinical practice in UAE, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. He delivered a hour long lecture covering the various aspects of orofacial pain which was highly appreciated by the attendees. The session was inaugurated by Dr Bhaskar Rao Chava and Principal Prof. Dr Jayanta Chattopadhyay. The interactive session was moderated by Prof. Dr Dolanchanpa Dasgupta, Head, Department of Prosthodontics. Around 75 participants attended the program, including our students, clinicians, faculties, faculty members from Dr R Ahmed Dental College & Hospital, Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Sciences & Research, Haldia Institute of Dental Science & Research, faculties and practitioners from outside West Bengal and from UAE.

The webinar not only succeeded as a meaningful academic event under the college banner, but it further helped to expand the academic network of our institution, strengthening college’s culture of continuing education.
