The Department of Civil Engineering successfully organised a one-day industrial visit on 8th May, 2026, to a leading real estate construction company named Srijan Realty Pvt. Ltd. at the project site, Srijan Industrial Logistic Park (Howrah), with 24 students from 2nd, 3rd & 4th years of Civil Engineering at Budge Budge Institute of Technology.
The visit proved to be a valuable initiative to bridge the gap between academia and industry, thereby enhancing the practical technical knowledge of the students.
During the visit, students got excellent exposure to the workings of a reputed company and gained practical insights into various technical aspects like reinforcement cage binding, reinforcement design, column point checking, structural drawing, BOQ, slab casting, column casting, flexible pavement construction, beam column junction design, reinforcement checking and concreting in a multi-storied building construction.
The successful ex*****on of the site visit was made possible through the courtesy and support of Mr Ankan Mukherjee (Manager - Construction), whose able guidance greatly contributed to the success of the event. He is also a proud alumnus of BBIT (POB 2014), and his continued involvement is now significantly contributing to the growth and development of the department.
The Department looks forward to organising more such industrial visits in the future to accelerate practical learning and industrial exposure of the students.
