Invitation to join QASTM seminar series:

Dear All,

I hope all of you are fine and doing well from your home. Stay safe and healthy. I am writing to let all of you now that tomorrow Johannes Knaute from GQFI Group of AEI is going to give a review talk in my QASTM group (Quantum Aspects of Space-Time and Matter) on "From spin chains to real-time thermal field theory using tensor networks [arXiv:1912.08836]" which is the second talk of this seminar series. The first talk of the forum was delivered by Prof. Jean Luc Lehners (The YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rya4KvOifu4&t=2151s), our Theoretical Cosmology Group Leader from AEI, Potsdam. Now let me introduce to all of you about QASTM (https://www.facebook.com/groups/381445689157142/). This is an international non-profit research forum for all Master's students, Ph.D. students and Post Docs from any part of the world. The level of the talk should be for masters and Ph.D. students so that they can be really benefitted out of that. The talk will be recorded and posted on youtube for all so that those who have not attended can see the content of the talk. This effort is recently made by me to cheer all physics researchers in this critical situation worldwide due to coronavirus. I am cordially inviting you to join the talk and the upcoming all talks of QASTM seminar series. You guys are always free to give QASTM seminar series talks in the future. The talk will happen by zoom and the related link is the following:

Title: From spin chains to real-time thermal field theory using tensor networks [arXiv:1912.08836]

Abstract:

One of the most interesting directions in theoretical high-energy and condensed matter physics is understanding dynamical properties of collective states of quantum field theories. The most elementary tool in this quest are re****ed equilibrium correlators governing the linear response theory. In this article we examine tensor networks as a way of determining them in a fully ab initio way in a class of (1+1)-dimensional quantum field theories arising as infra-red descriptions of quantum Ising chains. We show that, complemented with signal analysis using the Prony method, tensor network calculations for intermediate times provide a powerful way to explore the structure of singularities of the correlator in the complex frequency plane and to make predictions about the thermal response to perturbations in a class of non-integrable interacting quantum field theories.

Speaker: Mr. Johannes Knaute, GQFI Group, AEI, Potsdam, Germany.

Time: 14:00 pm to 15:30 pm (zoom talk)

I hope to see most of you tomorrow (if you are interested).

Best regards,
Sayantan Choudhury
