🌏🤝 IPHREC Strengthens Malaysia–Singapore Educational, Environmental, and Cultural Cooperation Through International Student Programme 🌱🎨
TANGKAK, JOHOR — The International Peace Human Rights Education Council (IPHREC) proudly celebrates the success of a meaningful Malaysia–Singapore cross-border educational and environmental programme that brought together students, educators, and communities in the spirit of peace, sustainability, cultural harmony, and international cooperation.
The programme, strongly aligned with the vision and mission of IPHREC, involved participants from Tun Seri Lanang Secondary School and Woodlands Secondary School, focusing on environmental sustainability, educational innovation, youth empowerment, and cultural appreciation between Malaysia and Singapore.
Led by the respected principal (Dr.) Sariman Husin, the IPHREC-supported educational initiative successfully gathered a total of 190 participants, comprising 108 participants from Malaysia and 82 participants from Singapore.
One of the key highlights under the IPHREC environmental awareness initiative was the Environmental Re-Tree Project, where participants jointly planted 100 banana plants as a symbol of environmental responsibility and sustainable development. Through this activity, IPHREC continues to encourage young generations to become active protectors of nature and advocates for global environmental sustainability.
In line with the educational objectives promoted by IPHREC, students from both nations also participated in a Science Mini Project, exchanging innovative ideas, enhancing creativity, and strengthening academic cooperation through collaborative learning experiences.
As part of the cultural harmony mission championed by IPHREC, participants engaged in traditional cultural activities and heritage games including Congkak and Sepak Upih. These activities helped strengthen friendship, mutual respect, and intercultural understanding among Malaysian and Singaporean students.
The programme also featured an inspiring IPHREC unity mural project, where students collaboratively expressed messages of peace, environmental awareness, friendship, and regional unity through creative artwork.
The successful programme concluded with an official closing ceremony officiated by Prof. Dr. Santharasekaran Subramaniam, who highly commended the efforts and commitment shown by participants towards the values continuously promoted by IPHREC — peace education, environmental stewardship, cultural appreciation, youth leadership, and international friendship.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Santharasekaran emphasised that initiatives supported by IPHREC play a vital role in shaping future generations that are globally connected, environmentally conscious, culturally respectful, and committed to peaceful international collaboration.
This successful international programme once again demonstrates how IPHREC continues to strengthen educational partnerships, environmental responsibility, cultural diplomacy, and youth engagement between Malaysia and Singapore while promoting the universal values of peace, unity, sustainability, and human development.
🌿🌏 Through education, sustainability, peace, and cultural understanding, IPHREC continues to build stronger bridges of international friendship for a brighter and more harmonious future.
