The School of Management, Swami Vivekananda University, organized an industry visit to ITC Ltd., Food Division, Uluberia, on March 30, 2026, for postgraduate students of Business Management. The visit was led by faculty members Dr. Sourav Chatterjee and Mr. Mainak Banerjee.
Upon arrival, Mr. Vikas Singh, HR Manager, ITC Food Division, welcomed the students with an informative presentation on the unit's operations, organizational structure, and production capabilities. The students were then provided with the necessary safety gear and guided through various production departments, where they observed modern machinery and standardized processes in action. This gave them valuable insights into the manufacturing process of one of West Bengal's largest food processing units.
The visit concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where students clarified their doubts regarding operations, quality assurance, and workflow management. The excursion proved to be a highly enriching learning experience, helping students connect theoretical concepts with real-world industrial practices. It also enhanced their understanding of supply chain management, operational efficiency, and industry standards while providing exposure to practical challenges and potential career opportunities in the food processing sector.
