With the blessings of Thakur, Ma, and Swamiji, and following the successful conclusion of the initial batch which saw a significant number of trainees gain job placements, we are pleased to announce the commencement of the second batch of the Certificate Course in Old Age Care, a modified version of our Certified Geriatric Care and Nursing Assistant Course. We have enrolled a total of 27 students, exceeding our current capacity of 25. The participants come from diverse backgrounds and various regions of the state, including North Bengal, which is a testament to the growing interest in this field. Although the minimum eligibility requirement is the completion of 12th grade—waived for those with work experience in geriatric care—many participants possess postgraduate degrees, including qualifications in Nursing and Allied Medical fields. This trend indicates a rising awareness and acceptance of old age care as a vital area of study.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the esteemed RKMVM Bose House Campus for the opportunity to collaborate on this important initiative. Our partnership not only enhances the course's credibility but also plays a crucial role in developing a dedicated and skilled workforce, capable of improving the quality of life for the geriatric population across multiple dimensions—physical, mental, social, and spiritual. Furthermore, the involvement of the renowned Geriatric Society Of India West Bengal Branch as a knowledge partner enriches the course, making it more comprehensive and valuable in the marketplace.
We acknowledge the invaluable support and inspiration of the Most Revered Swami Mahaprajnananda, Principal of the Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira Belur Math, and the Most Revered Swami Umapadananda, Incharge of the Bose House Campus, along with the entire team at the Bose House Campus. Their encouragement bolsters our efforts to promote a subject that remains relatively underappreciated among the general public.
We congratulate all trainees in the second batch and are confident that they will emerge as future leaders in geriatric care, equipped with the skills and dedication to serve our elderly population. Their professional education will enable them to create a model of compassionate care for our nation.
