We are thrilled to announce that the Department of Law, University of Calcutta, in collaboration with the Debating Society and the Cultural Committee, successfully hosted an incredible event— Bengaliyana and Beyond 2026.

This online cultural and debating extravaganza featured a dynamic extempore segment, with 32 participants showcasing their skills in both English and Bengali, truly capturing the spirit of linguistic and cultural diversity. We were delighted to witness participation from prestigious institutions such as the University of Warwick, St. Xavier's College,Kolkata, NIT Durgapur, and leading law colleges across Kolkata.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed judges, Mr. Agnik Bhattacharya and Dr. Debdoot Mukherjee, for their invaluable insights and contributions.

We congratulate all participants and winners for making the event a grand success!

And that’s a wrap! 🎤✨

The floor was switching stances in the blink of an eye, this past December 19th for the Freshers’ Debate ‘25. We witnessed an incredible display of logic, rhetoric and sportsmanship from our incoming talent. From gripping rebuttals to opening statements, our newest debaters proved that the future of discourse is in very capable hands.

We are thankful to our adjudicators, participants, and organizing team for translating this into a successful as well as remarkable event.
