๐ธ Hindi Diwas Celebrated at SGOU with a Musical & Poetic Feast ๐ธ
The Department of Hindi, Sreenarayanaguru Open University (SGOU) celebrated Hindi Diwas on 18 September 2026 at the University Seminar Hall, bringing together language, literature, music and poetry in a vibrant celebration of Hindi.๐๐๐๐
The programme was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Abhilash Babu, Registrar, SGOU, who highlighted the profound cultural significance of language and explored the intricate and multifaceted bonds among languages within the diverse cultural landscape of India.๐น๐น๐น
Prof. (Dr.) Sophia Rajan, HoS & Academic Director, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the richness and cultural significance of Hindi. She explored how Hindi film songs have evolved as a vibrant reflection of the diverse emotional, social and cultural transformations that India has witnessedโfrom the pre-Independence era to the present day.
The celebration came alive with โเคเค เคธเฅเคจเฅโ, a captivating musical and poetry presentation, creating a delightful literary and musical feast for the audience. The presentation was led by Dr. Indu G. Das and Christina Sherin Rose K.J., Assistant Professors, Department of Hindi.
Special thanks are due to Assistant Professors Dr. Robin Luke Varghese and Dr. Vijayarajan U., along with Shri Sreekum of the administrative staff, for creating a delightful musical feast that transcended time and drove the audience back to the nostalgic era of the 1980s and 1990s. ๐ถโจ
The programme also featured felicitations by Sri. Bijumon T., Campus Director & Cyber Controller, Prof. (Dr.) Sutheeshna Babu S., CIQA Director, and Smt. Salini K. S., Public Relations officer.
The celebration was welcomed by Dr. Krishna Preethy A.R., while Dr. Sudha T. proposed the vote of thanks.
