Most people outside business circles have never heard of McKinsey & Company — but the world's biggest governments and corporations have relied on them for advice since 1926.

Ranganayaki Venkatraman has joined McKinsey as an Associate in New York, widely considered the toughest of the firm's 100+ global offices to break into. McKinsey doesn't sell a product — it sells judgment, at the highest levels of business and government, and getting hired there is one of the rarest outcomes in the corporate world.

With deep sadness, we share the passing of Sai Rohith Maddi (B.Tech CSE, 2013–2017, Amrita Bangalore Campus), following a bike accident in Ladakh.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

Om Shanti 🙏

Two years of planning. Nearly 140 alumni back in one room.

Gunasekaran K, Director at QuarkCube, helped lead the effort to bring his founding batch back together for their Silver Jubilee reunion.

"We managed to get around 60 to 70% attendance — nearly 140 alumni joined us. Seeing the happiness on every single alumnus's face makes me feel incredibly proud to be part of this team."

He credits the campus team and organizing coordinators for pulling it off — and says this is only the beginning of keeping the batch connected.

Your mindset outlasts your job title.

Vasanth Selvan, now Director of Architecture at Barclays Bank UK, came back to Amrita 25 years after graduating with three things he wishes someone had told him before he left.

"Your mindset is your greatest asset. The critical thinking, analytical skills, and thought patterns you develop are what hold you steady through career transitions, job changes, and an uncertain world."

Learning never stops, and neither should staying open to how much the world keeps changing — that's the advice he'd give his younger self.

Some scars become your strength.

Rohini Sivalingam lost her father during her third year at Amrita — and found the resilience to carry her through it in the community around her. That same resilience carried her through the dot-com crash years later, when most of her batch's job offers were postponed overnight.

Today, alongside corporate training and IT projects, she spends her weekends telling stories to children.

"I lost my father during my third year, and it was then that I truly experienced the power of community — and discovered my own inner resilience."

Some things don't fade in 25 years.

Naren Nirmalarajan now leads business development for Wipro's Utilities practice as Presales Director, managing a 180-person team across UK, European, and Middle East markets. But this year, he came back to where it all started — his batch's Silver Jubilee Reunion.

"It was truly a home away from home. What I have taken from this institution into my professional life is learning to be a grounded person, showing respect to others, and making good decisions at the end of the day."

Here's a collaboration that's shaping more than research.

For nearly four decades, CEFIPRA has strengthened scientific collaboration between India and France, creating opportunities for joint research, innovation, and academic exchange.

That's why partnerships like these matter. They bring together universities, researchers, and industry to tackle global challenges while opening doors to international collaboration and knowledge sharing.

The recent visit of the CEFIPRA leadership and the French Embassy delegation to Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham marks another step in expanding these opportunities for students, researchers, and alumni through stronger global research networks.

Did you know?

Sri Lanka is emerging as one of South Asia's leading centres for climate resilience, biodiversity research, and sustainable development.

As neighbouring countries face many of the same environmental and societal challenges, collaborations between institutions become more than academic partnerships—they become opportunities to create solutions that benefit the entire region.

That's what makes the recent meeting between Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and the University of Colombo so meaningful. Leaders from both institutions came together to explore future collaboration in research, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Amrita alumni continue to contribute to AI-driven innovation that improves accessibility and quality of life.

Dr. Rajesh Kannan Megalingam (PhD Robotics, Class of 2015), Dr. Sakthiprasad K. M. (PhD Robotics, Class of 2025), Dhilna C. Manjooran, and Dhanaraj Kamble developed Thrivaad, an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) system that combines predictive eye-tracking with optimized deep learning to enable faster, more accurate, and multilingual communication for individuals with speech and motor impairments.

The research has been accepted for publication in Sensors (MDPI), reflecting the growing impact of Amrita's research ecosystem in advancing human-centered AI and inclusive technologies.
