Marygiri College of Arts & Science(MCAS), a minority educational institution covered under article 30 of the Constitution of India, is run by the Kottayam St. Josephs’ Province of the religious congregation of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI). This congregation is the embodiment of the dreams and visions of Blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the great educational visionary of the 19th century

and the founder of the CMI congregation. CMI religious congregation is one among the leading educational agencies in India which runs more than 460 schools and 35 colleges for higher education. The college is directly under the management of Marygiri Educational and Charitable Trust, consisting of a team of Educationists. The motto of the college “Learn Love Lead” speaks for itself. The institute aims at forming leaders who are intellectually competent, spiritually mature, morally upright, psychologically integrated, physically healthy and socially acceptable who will champion the cause of justice, love, truth and peace and who are ever open to further growth . We also aim at creating a new generation of human society where dignity of the human person is upheld, where unjust social structures are challenged, where our cultural heritage of ahimsa, religious harmony and national integration are cherished, where the poor and the down trodden are specially taken care of. CMI FEATURES OF EDUCATION
Aiming at a holistic formation of the personality of the individual student. Giving special attention to religious formation, character building and value education through various methods and programmes. Providing quality education to all, as a means of individual and social transformation and growth. Ensuring cooperation and involvement of parents in education, particularly with regard to religious formation, value education and emotional growth. Considering education as a universal right of all, we affirm our social commitment to reach out to those who cannot afford to obtain quality education, through financial assistance for formal education and through non- formal methods of education. SPIRITUAL AND MORAL FORMATION
Tolerance and respect for all religions besides one’s own is more urgent now than any time before. The communally charged 21st century has already given the world enough proof. Bearing this in mind we give great importance to the spiritual and moral formation of our children. A faith - culture is developed among them irrespective of religious differences. Apart from regular religious/moral instruction sessions, periodic programmes like Divine Liturgy, prayer gatherings, visits to the Blessed Sacrament, retreats, extension lectures by reputed spiritual and exemplary leaders etc are also conducted. Besides this general awareness, we also organize regular religious formation sessions for non-Christian students. Marygiri at a Glance
