🤖 Bringing AI & Robotics to Life at IIIT Kota!

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering (AIDE), IIIT Kota, in collaboration with NUGENIX, successfully organized an engaging industry-academia demonstration session on Kinova Gen3 Lite and Gen3 7DOF Robotic Arms.

The event brought together nearly 200 students and faculty members for an immersive experience spanning Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Autonomous Systems, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning.

🔹 Session 1 | Live Robotics Demonstration
Mr. Aditya Marathe, Founder, NUGENIX, introduced participants to the fundamentals of robotics and demonstrated the Kinova Gen3 Lite and Gen3 7DOF robotic arms. The session explored robot mechanics, movement, vision-based control, real-world applications, the growing robotics ecosystem, market opportunities, and career pathways in Robotics & AI.

🔹 Session 2 | Robotics Research & Lunar Exploration
Prof. Rajesh Kumar, Coordinator, IIIT Kota, presented a fascinating case study of a Lunar Rover developed at RAMAN Lab, MNIT Jaipur, as part of the ISRO IRoC-U 2024 challenge. The session provided insights into autonomous navigation, sample collection, stereo vision, Visual SLAM, ROS2, and NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX.

🔹 Session 3 | AI/ML for Robotics
Dr. Amit Kumar, Department of CSE, IIIT Kota, introduced the participants to Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques for robotics, highlighting how different AI approaches can be applied across diverse robotic applications.

The programme concluded with an interactive Q&A session with students, encouraging them to explore emerging opportunities in Robotics, AI, research, and interdisciplinary technology development.

A special acknowledgement to the leadership and faculty members of IIIT Kota for their support in making the programme successful, and to NUGENIX for bringing cutting-edge robotic platforms to the campus.

🤖🔐 AI + Cyber Security + Policing = Smarter, Safer & Future-Ready Law Enforcement

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Kota (IIIT Kota), in collaboration with Kota City Police, inaugurated the three-day certificate programme on “Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security for Smart Policing”, with the aim of strengthening technology-driven policing and building a safer, smarter, and digitally secure society.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Mr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, DGP, Rajasthan & Chief Guest; Mr. Vishal Bansal, ADGP, Special Operations Group, Jaipur; Mr. Kunwar Rashtradeep, DIG of Police, Personnel & Principal Staff Officer to DGP, Jaipur; Ms. Tejaswani Gautam, SP, Kota City; and Mr. Nisheeth Dixit, Advocate-on-Record, Supreme Court of India. Prof. Narayan Prasad Padhy, Director, IIIT Kota, joined the ceremony virtually. The distinguished dignitaries from police administration, judiciary, and academia were warmly welcomed with mementoes.

Dr. Gyan Singh Yadav, HOD, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIIT Kota, and Programme Coordinator, briefed the gathering about the objectives and significance of the programme.

The session featured insightful addresses by Mr. Nisheeth Dixit, Advocate-on-Record, Supreme Court of India; Mr. Vishal Bansal, ADGP, Special Operations Group, Jaipur; Prof. Narayan Prasad Padhy, Director, IIIT Kota (Virtual); and Mr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, DGP, Rajasthan & Chief Guest. The Chief Guest addressed the gathering on “Smart Policing and Future Shaping.” The distinguished speakers highlighted the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, emerging technologies, and digital capabilities in strengthening modern policing and creating a safer and more secure society.

The ceremony also featured the facilitation of Dr. Gyan Singh Yadav by the Hon’ble DGP, Rajasthan, for his valuable contribution as Programme Coordinator. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Ms. Tejaswani Gautam, Superintendent of Police, Kota City, who expressed gratitude to the distinguished guests, speakers, participants, organisers, and everyone who contributed to the successful commencement of the programme.

Together, academia and police administration are working towards technology-enabled, intelligent, resilient, and future-ready policing.
