A Historic Milestone for IIM Kozhikode!
IIM Kozhikode has set a new benchmark in Indian management education with the induction of the Class of 2028, recording the highest-ever representation of women in the history of the IIM system. Nearly 66% of the latest PGP batch consists of female candidates!
The inaugural function was graced by Mr. Raghu Polisetty, Senior Managing Director, Accenture and Prof. Debashis (Deb Ashis) Chatterjee, Director, IIM Kozhikode. The following batches were inducted during the inaugural ceremony: PGP-30, PGP Finance-07, PGP - Liberal Studies and Management 07,DPM 20, DPM (PT) 08, DPM (TT) 01.
Among the highlights of the 2026 intake:
• 66% women (329 of 499 students) in the flagship PGP's 30th batch – the highest ever among IIMs.
• Nearly 63% women across all three full-time MBA programmes.
• 599 MBA students and 99 Doctoral Scholars (PhD) inducted.
• 57% non-engineers in the flagship PGP, reinforcing IIM Kozhikode's commitment to academic diversity.
• 82% female candidates are part of PGP-LSM which had a non-engineering intake of 96%
• PGP-Finance constitutes of 87% Male members
• Ist batch of DPM (Teaching Track) inducted this year
• The regular Doctoral Programme in Management also recorded its highest-ever female representation, with 66% women.
Chief Guest Mr. Raghu Polisetty, Senior Managing Director, Accenture, urged students to combine AI with empathy, creativity and values, reminding them that the future belongs to lifelong learners who lead with purpose. He also added that the leaders who will thrive are those who remain lifelong learners, adapt continuously, build meaningful human connections and focus on creating collective success rather than individual achievement.
Prof. Debashis (Deb Ashis) Chatterjee, Director, IIM Kozhikode, said, "The Class of 2028 reflects our belief that diversity and excellence go hand in hand. We are committed to nurturing leaders shaped by varied perspectives, curiosity and collaboration."
As the flagship PGP enters its 30th year, IIM Kozhikode continues to redefine excellence by building classrooms that are more inclusive, multidisciplinary and future-ready.
