One-Day Workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Patent & Design Filing” Successfully Organized at the ICFAI University, Raipur

The ICFAI University, Raipur, through its Faculty of Engineering and Technology and Research and Development Cell, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a one-day workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Patent & Design Filing” in collaboration with GRNIIPM under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

The keynote speaker for the program was Dr. Bharat N. Suryavanshi, Assistant Controller of Patents and Designs, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

The session was graced by the presence of our esteemed Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Shiv Dayal Pandey and Registrar Dr.Archi Dube, whose addresses added depth to the occasion. He expressed gratitude to the keynote speaker and all the organizers, while highlighting the importance of IPR. He emphasized that every individual should be aware of IPR, as it is one of the key pillars of nation-building.

The workshop was conducted in two sessions by the keynote speaker, which included Fundamentals of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Overview of various forms of IPR such as patents, trademarks, copyrights, and designs, and their significance in academia and industry, Legal Aspects and IPR Enforcement, Overview of infringement issues, legal remedies, licensing, and monetization of intellectual property, Practical Session / Case Studies and Hands-on exposure to patent search tools, basic drafting concepts, and discussion of real-life case studies.

Through these sessions, the workshop highlighted that IPR provides safe and sustainable growth opportunities for innovators and producers.

In the concluding session, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Yadav, Head of the Department, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, congratulated all the organizers and expressed his gratitude to the keynote speaker and participants. He noted that such workshops play a crucial role in helping students and researchers protect their intellectual property.

The event was successfully coordinated by Mr. Dilip Mishra, Dr. Nisha Thakur, Dr. Snehal Vairagade, Dr. Pinkey Chouhan, and other distinguished faculty members of the department.

"World Creativity & Innovation Day 2026 Celebration with Scientific Fervor"

The Faculty of Engineering & Technology (FOET), The ICFAI University, Raipur, successfully organized World Creativity & Innovation Day 2026 on 22 April 2026 at Block B, IT Lab, Ground Floor. The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Ramesh Kumar Yadav, HOD, Faculty of Engineering and Technology. The program aimed to encourage innovation, technical creativity, and problem-solving skills among students by providing them a platform to present their projects and ideas. The event was coordinated by Dr. Pinkey Chouhan and Dr. Nisha Bais, with Prof. Dilip Mishra as Co-Coordinator.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who showcased innovative projects based on Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Machine Learning, Automation, Finance, Agriculture, and Smart Systems.

One of the highlighted projects was Face Recognition Alert System, presented by Yuvraj Patel and Shravani, which uses teachers’ facial recognition for biometric authentication and sends messages to students automatically. Another impressive project was ChefAI: Smart Kitchen Assistant, developed by Mayur Kale, Sajjadul Haque Ansari, chanchal Gupta, and Gungun Chhatri, which generates AI-powered Indian recipes from available ingredients and helps in kitchen management while reducing food waste.

The project Drone, by Atul Chandra Jha and Bhumi Hasani, demonstrated a drone developed using a custom flight controller and INAV system. Foldocx Version 2, created by narayani parauha and Hensi Shankhala, automatically generates documentation from code folders, making software development easier.

A unique eco-friendly innovation was Smart Moss Air Purifier, presented by Chandrakant Dewangan, which uses natural moss as an air filter and an ESP32 microcontroller to monitor and control environmental conditions. In the agriculture sector, AgriScan, developed by Khemraj Sahu, Lekhraj Sonkar, GAGAN SINGH, and Himanshu Mandavi, provided an AI-powered platform for pre-diagnosis reports of plant diseases.

The project Finance Tracker, by Y. Nikita and Aman Singh, offered a dashboard to visualize income, expenses, and balance trends in a simple and effective way. Another advanced cybersecurity project, ML Firewall, by Himanchal Kaushale, PIYUSH BHOWMICK, Gungun Chhatri, Rohit Kumar Yadav, and Satwik Sriman Satpathy, showcased a Machine Learning-based web application firewall that detects and blocks malicious requests.

The project demonstration was highly appreciated by Prof.( Dr.) Shiv Dayal Pandey, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, who extended his best wishes to the participating students and said that the emerging technologies are playing important role in sustainable development of the Society.

The ICFAI University, Raipur, organized a grand farewell ceremony for the outgoing students of Arts, Commerce, Management, Law, and Science streams. The event was filled with joy, nostalgia, and vibrant celebrations, creating unforgettable memories for all attendees.

One of the main attractions of the evening was the distribution of special titles, including Mr. Fresher and Miss Fresher for each stream—Arts, Commerce, Management, Law, and Science—recognizing the charm and talent of the students. The prestigious titles of Mr. ICFAI and Miss ICFAI were also awarded, making the celebration even more special. The venue was beautifully decorated with a vibrant selfie zone where students captured joyful moments with their friends and faculty members. Delicious food and lively music further enhanced the celebration, allowing students to relax and enjoy their final moments on campus. The farewell event was meticulously planned and successfully organized by the event team, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for everyone.

The two-day International Conference on “Future Ready AI, Law for Sustainability and Inclusive Economy: Mapping the Path to Viksit Bharat 2047” commenced on 24 April 2026 at The ICFAI University, Raipur.

Shri Shashank Sharma, Chief Guest, emphasized the need to balance technological advancement with cultural and ethical values. He stated that Artificial Intelligence must serve society in a way that strengthens inclusivity, preserves human values, and supports sustainable development.

Er. Saroj Kumar Sahoo, Regional Vice President-East, AIMS, highlighted that strong collaboration between academia and industry is essential to prepare future-ready professionals. He stressed that institutions must nurture innovation, research, and leadership aligned with national priorities.

Prof.( Dr.) Shiv Dayal Pandey, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, The ICFAI University, Raipur, underlined the importance of interdisciplinary learning. He noted that AI, law, and sustainability are interconnected pillars for achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, and institutions must adopt outcome-based, research-driven education models.

"Empowering Branding through the 3B Model" - An Expert Session Organized by The ICFAI University, Raipur

The ICFAI University, Raipur, successfully organized an expert session on “3B Model of Branding: Harnessing Social Media for Building Academic Reputation” on 20th April 2026 at the Seminar Hall, Academic Block B.

The session was graced by Mr. Sudhakar Rao, Director – Branding, ICFAI Group, who shared deep insights into the universal applicability of branding across individuals, institutions, and business organizations. He emphasized that the 3B Model of Branding—Being, Behaving, and Broadcasting is a holistic framework that transcends domains and can be effectively applied in multiple contexts, including academia.

Session 1: 3B Model of Branding

Prof. Rao explained that “Being” is about defining identity, purpose, and authenticity—the foundation of any strong brand. “Behaving” reflects how consistently one aligns actions with values, building trust and credibility over time. “Broadcasting” focuses on effectively communicating this identity and behavior through the right channels to create visibility and impact. He further illustrated how this model can be adapted to academic institutions as a practical example, helping faculty understand its relevance in their professional ecosystem.

Session 2: Harnessing Social Media for Building Reputation

In the second session, Prof. Rao highlighted how social media can be strategically leveraged to amplify brand presence. He discussed the importance of creating meaningful content, maintaining consistency, and showcasing achievements to build a credible and influential reputation. The session provided actionable insights on how institutions and individuals can position themselves effectively in the digital space.

Prof.( Dr.) Shiv Dayal Pandey, honorable Vice Chancellor, extended his best wishes to the distinguished guest and urged all the participants to inculcate the key insights for maximum benefits.

The post-lunch session further explored how academic institutions can leverage social media tools to build visibility, credibility, and long-term reputation in a competitive environment.

Farewell Party 2026 Organized by FOET students at The ICFAI University, Raipur

The Faculty of Engineering and Technology at The ICFAI University, Raipur successfully organized the “Farewell Party 2026” to bid a heartfelt goodbye to the graduating students of B.Tech., BCA, and MCA final year. The event was held at the University Auditorium, Academic Block–B, starting from 12:00 noon onwards.

The program was centered around the theme, “A Journey Ends, A New Story Begins…”, reflecting the transition of students from academic life to new professional journeys. The farewell brought together faculty members, staff, and students in a vibrant and emotional gathering filled with memories, appreciation, and celebration.

On this occasion, the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof.( Dr.) Shiv Dayal Pandey, addressed the gathering and extended his heartfelt congratulations to the passing-out students. In his inspiring address, he encouraged the students to uphold the values of integrity, innovation, and lifelong learning. He motivated the graduates to face future challenges with confidence and to contribute meaningfully to society and the nation.

The event was enriched with a variety of engaging and entertaining activities. The Management Club of Faculty of Management Studies (FOMS) at ICFAI University Raipur recently organized a vibrant and memorable Ethnic Day event on 14/04/2026 based on the beautiful theme of “Unity in Diversity.”

The campus came alive as students showcased India’s rich cultural heritage by dressing in a variety of traditional attires representing different regions. The event was filled with energy, enthusiasm, and creativity as students actively participated in cultural performances such as dance, music, and an exciting ramp walk.
