The Department of Chemistry organized a Community Extension Work programme focusing on Plastic Pollution Awareness and phenyl Manufacturing Training. The programme was inaugurated by Vinod Kumar K.K., Head of the Department of Malayalam.

The technical session was handled by Nasheetha Rahman T.T., Head of the Department of Chemistry, who delivered an informative awareness talk on the environmental impacts of plastic pollution. She also conducted a practical demonstration on soap manufacturing, enabling participants to gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge.

Approximately 50 participants attended the programme. The session witnessed active interaction, enthusiastic participation, and meaningful discussions throughout the training. Participants appreciated the practical approach and the opportunity to develop a useful life skill while understanding the importance of environmental conservation.

Second BA students of the Department of English undertook an Educational visit to the Mattoli Radio Station, Wayanad, on 1 July 2026 as part of their experiential learning programme. A total of 19 students participated in the visit and gained first-hand exposure to the functioning of a community radio station, including programme production, broadcasting techniques and audience engagement strategies. The visit provided valuable insights into the role of community media in education, culture, and social awareness, thereby enhancing the students' understanding of communication practices beyond the classroom. The students were accompanied by two faculty members from the Department of English, Ms. Noorjahan OP, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Hasanul Basari, Assistant Professor.
