കേരളത്തിലെ എഞ്ചിനീയറിങ് വിദ്യാർഥികൾക്ക് employable skills (ജോലിക്കാവശ്യമായ നൈപുണ്യം) ഇല്ല എന്നാരാണ് പറഞ്ഞത്. Drive ഉള്ള വിദ്യാർഥികളും അവരുടെ technical acumen വളർത്താനാവശ്യമായ കാമ്പസ് അന്തരീക്ഷവും mentoring ന് പരിചിതരായ അധ്യാപകരുമുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അത് സാധ്യമാണെന്ന് ഒരിക്കൽ കൂടി തെളിയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, കുറ്റിപ്പുറം MES എഞ്ചിനീയറിങ് കോളജിലെ വിദ്യാർഥികൾ. കേന്ദ്ര പ്രതിരോധ വകുപ്പിന്റെ കീഴിലുള്ള DRDO നടത്തിയ പ്രൊജക്ട് കോംപറ്റിഷനിൽ ദേശീയ ചാമ്പ്യൻ പദവി എന്ന അസൂയാർഹമായ നേട്ടം കൈവരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, ഇലക്ട്രിക്കൽ എഞ്ചിനീയറിങ്ങിലെ അവസാന വർഷ വിദ്യാർഥികളുടെ ടീം. സർക്യൂട്ടുകളെ സ്വപനം കണ്ടു നടക്കുന്ന ദിബുവിനോടൊപ്പം ഫാരിസ്, ഫാസില, ബാസിത്, സൂരജ് എന്നിവർ ചേർന്നപ്പോൾ രൂപം കൊണ്ടത് പ്രതിരോധ മേഖലയിലെ ഏത് പ്രതികൂല സാഹചര്യത്തിലും കടന്ന് ചെല്ലാവുന്ന 'ആയുധ' എന്ന വയർലസ് റോബോട്ട്‌. MES ലെ അവസാന വർഷ പ്രൊജക്ടിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി കോളജിലെ FABLABൽ വികസിപ്പിച്ചെടുത്ത ഈ റോബോട്ടാണിപ്പോൾ DRDO ഡയമണ്ട് ജൂബിലിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി നടത്തിയ DRUSE (DRDO Robotics and Unmanned System Expositions) ൽ ഒന്നാം സമ്മാനം നേടിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. പ്രതിരോധാവശ്യങ്ങൾക്ക് ഉപയോഗിക്കാവുന്ന ആളില്ലാ സംവിധാനങ്ങൾ രൂപകൽപന ചെയ്ത് വികസിപ്പിച്ചെടുക്കുന്നതിൽ, വിദ്യാർഥികൾക്കിടയിലെ ദേശീയ പ്രതിഭകളെ കണ്ടെത്താനുള്ള DRUSE ൽ ഒന്നാമതെത്തി ഒന്നര ലക്ഷം രൂപ സമ്മാനത്തുകയും ട്രോഫിയുമാണ് ഈ മിടുക്കർ കൈക്കലാക്കിയത്.
പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട കുട്ടികളെ, IIT ഖരഗ്പൂരിലെയും പൂനെ കോളജ് ഓഫ് എഞ്ചിനീയറിങ്ങിലെയും മത്സരാർഥികളെ രണ്ടും മൂന്നും സ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലേയ്ക്ക് പിന്തള്ളി, നിങ്ങൾ നേടിയ ഈ കിരീടം കോളജിനൊരു സിൽവർ ജൂബിലി സമ്മാനമായി. പിരിഞ്ഞ് പോകും നേരത്ത് നിങ്ങളുടെ മറക്കാനാവാത്ത മുദ്രയും.
