Today’s session of the One-Week Workshop on Welding and Simulation was successfully conducted by Mr. Pramjeet Sakhya Sir and Paras sir, where the students showed great enthusiasm and active participation.

During the session, students were introduced to key aspects of welding and simulation, including:

Fundamentals of welding processes

Different types of welding techniques

Safety measures in welding operations

Introduction to simulation tools and their industrial applications

Practical demonstrations for better understanding

The workshop not only enhanced students’ technical knowledge but also gave them practical exposure to modern simulation methods used in industries.

The SLIET Mechanical Engineering Society (SMES) inaugurated a One-Week Workshop on “Welding and Simulation” (1st – 6th September 2025) at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, SLIET Longowal.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. Mani Kant Paswan, Director SLIET, with Prof. Shankar Singh, Head of the Department (Mechanical & Civil), as Chairperson. The workshop is coordinated by Dr. Mohd. Majid and Dr. Vivek Kumar, Associate Professors in the Mechanical Engineering Department.

The program aims to bridge academia and industry by providing practical, skill-based training with modern welding and simulation technologies. With the participation of around 50 students, the workshop will deliver hands-on learning experiences focusing on real-world engineering applications.

The event is being successfully organized by the SMES team under the guidance of the coordinators, ensuring valuable outcomes for all participants
