Amity School of Languages, in collaboration with Ehsaaz Foundation, inaugurated “The Pearls” — a five-week intensive theatre workshop centred on Performance, Employability, Academic Reach, Leadership, and Skill Enhancement.

Prof. (Dr.) KumKum Ray, Director, Amity School of Languages, delivered the Welcome Address, setting the academic tone for the programme and warmly welcoming all the guests and participants.

The inaugural function featured a puppetry performance and a presentation of “The World-Renowned Nose” by students of the Mimesis Dramatics and Film Club. The workshop will be led by Mr. Chris Walters, UK-based Theatre Practitioner, along with engaging theatrical activities throughout the sessions.

Amity Institute of Liberal Arts organised an insightful guest lecture on “Beyond Modernity: Exploring the Ideas and Impact of Postmodernism” on 20th August 2026.

The session, delivered by Dr. Sadaf Khalid, explored the evolution of thought beyond modernity and the influence of postmodernism on culture, identity, and society. The discussion encouraged students to critically examine established narratives and engage with diverse perspectives on knowledge and contemporary society.

Amity School of Hospitality organised an On-Campus Placement Drive by the Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development (OCLD), The Oberoi Group, on 20th August 2026.

The drive provided final-year students of MBA, BBA (General), BHM, and BBA (Tourism Management) with an opportunity to engage with one of the world’s leading luxury hospitality groups. The recruitment process included a Pre-Placement Presentation, interactive Q&A, extempore rounds, and personal interviews, offering valuable exposure to industry expectations and professional recruitment practices.

The OCLD delegation included Mr. Robin Bharadwaj, Manager – HR; Mr. Gregory Gomes, Deputy Manager – HR; Mr. Sidhant Bose, Front Office Manager; Ms. Kavya Balan, HR Supervisor; Ms. Isha Kanwal, HR Associate; and Mr. Ishan Sahai, Food & Beverage Manager, The Oberoi Group.

The engagement further strengthened industry–academia collaboration and provided students with valuable career opportunities in the hospitality sector.

Amity Institute of Liberal Arts organised an insightful academic session on women’s leadership, exploring the evolving role of women across medieval and modern contexts.

Dr. Manu Sharma, Associate Professor and Head, Department of History, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, shared valuable perspectives on women’s agency, leadership, social and cultural barriers, and the historical roots of the contemporary “glass ceiling”.

The session encouraged students to connect historical experiences with contemporary conversations on gender equality, representation, and inclusive leadership.

Amity School of Languages, in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence for Promotion of Indian Knowledge System, is organising a National Seminar on “Skill Enhancement for Viksit Bharat @ 2047: Role of Digital Communication, Media Studies and Performing Arts in Higher Education”, sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR).

The National Seminar will be held on 21st–22nd September 2026 in hybrid mode and is being organised in collaboration with Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya and Avadh Girls’ Degree College. Faculty members, researchers, media professionals, practitioners, and students are invited to submit research papers.

Selected papers will be considered for publication in a peer-reviewed edited volume with an ISBN.
