Green India(Tree plantation) Activity - EkPedMaaKeNaam
This is to inform that Government of India has launched Special Campaign 4.0 for “Swachhata and Minimizing Pendency” that will be celebrated from 2nd October to 31st October 2024 in alignment with the national vision for a clean and efficient governance system.
MohandaiOswal College of Nursing has celebrated “Swachhata hi Seva Campaign 2024” underwhich they did “SwachhatakiBhagidari”which laid on the principle of collective responsibility and active participation of all citizens. At the core of this missionis the belief that each individual must take ownership of their own waste and contribute to a cleaner environment, as the journey towards cleaner India is a shared endeavor for which every person’s involvement and ownership is crucial.
The activity performed was“ Green India(Tree plantation)- EkPedMaaKeNaam“A Tree in the Name of Mother” which is important because it is an effort that shows our respect and dedication towards our motherland and nature. The aim of this campaign is to plant a tree in the name of mother and create a lasting memory, which will not only protect the environment but also contribute to building a greener and prosperous future.
The students and faculty of MohandaiOswal College of Nursingdid tree plantation on 4th October 2024 and became a part of "EkPedMaaKeNaam" and plant a tree to create an unforgettable memory for our motherland.

Mohandai Oswal College of Nursing organized an awareness session regarding vector- borne disease control at Vidya Sagar Oswal Auditorium on 18/09/2024 at 11 am. Dr. Sheetal Narang, District Epidemiologist was the chief guest along with Dr.Dalbir Singh, Malaria Control District officer.
All the students of college of Nursing and faculty were educated regarding the importance to practice preventive measures against commonly occurring Vector borne diseases like Dengue, Malaria, Filaria etc.
Dr. Shally (Director of Medical Services), Dr. Swapna Melchisedec( Principal of College of Nursing) , Mrs. Bency Daniel( Vice Principal) and Dr. Isha Narang (Deputy manager operation) were present in this session.

Su***de prevention day observed on September 10th, 2024 with the theme” changing the narrative on su***de”, at Mohan Dai Oswal College of Nursing, Ludhiana. The event aimed at focusing on rethinking and transforming the way we discussed and addressed su***de in our communities. The program was performed under the guidance of Dr. Swapna Melchisedec, Principal and Professor CON,MOH,Ludhiana. Whose leadership and support ensured an impactful presentation on su***de prevention.Guest of the event Dr. Keshika Ahuja, MD Psychiatrist and Dr. Dhanakshi Chaturvedi, Clinical Psycologist, MOH were warmly welcome by principal CON. The theme was unfolded by Mrs. Rubina, Assitant Professor CON, MOH. The motivational talk address by Dr. Dhanakshi Chaturvedi, Clincial Psychologist, MOH focused on breaking the silence surrounding mental health, exploring effective strategies for support and understanding the stigma associated with suicidal thoughts. The nursing student’s role play and poster competition were integral to the event’s success, vividly illustrating the theme.The prizes were awarded to the winners by the principal, CON. The vote of thanks expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event by Ms. Muskan Nursing Tutor CON.

The Anti-Ragging Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 12th August 2024, followed by a week-long Anti-Ragging awareness campaign from 12th to 18th August 2024, at Mohan Dai Oswal College of Nursing, Ludhiana. The event aimed to create awareness among students about the ill effects of ragging and to promote a safe and inclusive environment within the campus. The principal addressed the students and staff, highlighting the institution's zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and the severe consequences for those found guilty of such activities. The following events were conducted as:-
• Poster Making Competition
• Awareness Campaign and Activities
• Interactive Session
• Documentary Screening
• Guest Lecture

Teej Celebrations at Mohan Dai Oswal College of Nursing.
Teej is a vibrant and joyous festival celebrated primarily in India, marking the arrival of the monsoon season. It’s a festival dedicated to the goddess Parvati. Traditionally, women dress in colourful attire, adorn themselves with henna, and fast from sunrise to moonrise. Celebrations include performing rituals, singing traditional songs, and engaging in dances. The festival is also a time for family gatherings and enjoying festive foods, making it a cherished occasion for cultural expression and spiritual devotion.
Teej festival was celebrated in Mid Day Oswal College of Nursing on 12th and 13th Aug,2024. Various activities were organized for students. Dr. shally (Director Medical services) was chief guest and Ms.Dimple (EA to CMD) was guest of honor.
On 12th Aug,2024:- Mehandi competition and pot painting competition was held.
On 13th Aug,2024 :- Folk dance ,Ms.Teej contest was held.

World Hepatitis day was celebrated in Mohan Dai Oswal College of Nursing, Ludhiana on 29th July 2024 on theme “It’s Time for Action” The programme was started with unfolding of theme by Dr. Swapna Melchisedec, Principal CON, Ms. Dimple Pruthi, EA to CMD MOH, Mrs. Neelam Dass, Prof. CON , Mrs. Rubia, Prof. CON and faculty of Medical Surgical Nursing team. Students of B. SC. 4th semester enthusiastically participated in Poster making competition and role play. Talk on Hepatitis was delivered by SNA president Ms. Ravneet Kaur
Mrs. Amritpal Kaur, Asso. Prof. and Ms. Alka, Nsg. Tutor were judges for the poster competition. Winners of poster competition were:

International Yoga day was celebrated with full spirit and joy at Mohandai Oswal college of Nursing on 21st june 2024 on theme ‘ Yoga for self and society’.
the theme focused on a transformative practice, represents the harmony of mind and body, the balance between thought and action, and the unity of restraint and fulfillment.
A mass yoga session conducted by the faculty and students. Warm up exercises were taken and all the students practiced & performed sitting and standing asanas, importance of these were explained simultaneously.

The International Nurses day was celebrated in Mohan Dai Oswal College of Nursing on 11th May, 2024 on theme “Our Nurses, Our Future, The Economic power of care”. Mrs. Abhilash Oswal (Wife of worthy Sh. Jawahar Lal Oswal) graced the occasion with her presence as a chief guest. The Programme started with welcome dance by B.Sc (N) 5th Semester students. Professors, College of Nursing- Mrs Rubia Ahuja & Mrs Deepika David highlighted the significance of ceremony to nursing students and welcomed the chief guest and esteemed Dignitaries-Mrs. Ruchika Oswal, Mrs. Sanjna Oswal and Mrs. Ish*ta Oswal followed by lamp lighting ceremony as a tribute to Florence Nightingale, the Founder of modern Nursing.
Dr. Swapna Melchisedec, Principal CON & Prof. Bency Daniel, Vice-principal, CON felicitated the chief-guest and Dignitaries with bouquet and token of love.
Prof. Minakshi Pereira unfolded the theme of International Nurses day, 2024. Mrs Abhilash Oswal (Chief Guest) & Dr. Swapna Melchisedec lit the lamp and passed on the lighted lamps to novice students of B.sc (N) and GNM. Prof. Bency Daniel, Vice Principal CON, took the lead for oath taking by the students.
The celebration was thrilled with mesmerizing cultural performances by nursing students. Nurses week was celebrated in college of nursing from 6th may to 11th may, 2024 by organizing various competitions and prizes were awarded to the winners.
Mrs. Rubina, Assistant Professor CON, proposed vote of thanks and programme ended with high tea.

On the 23rd of April at 9:30 am, Mohan Dai Oswal College of Nursing, Ludhiana, organized its Annual Sports Meet 2024. The indoor games, including Carom Board, Chess, Ludo, and Hand Punch, were conducted at the Multipurpose hall. A remarkable display of precision, intellect, and vigor was witnessed in all the games.

Winners of the various indoor games were as follows:

- Carom Board: Deepak, Mehak, and Sahib
- Chess (Girls): Khusnoor, BSc(N) 1st sem
- Chess (Boys): Deepinder Singh, BSc(N) 3rd sem
- Ludo: Sajita, BSc(N) 1st sem
- Hand Punch (Boys): Vansh, GNM 1st Year
- Hand Punch (Girls): Pooja, BSc(N) 3rd sem

On the 24th of April, the second day commenced with the National Anthem and Warm-up/PT. At 10 am, various series of races, including the 100m, took place at the Volleyball ground. Brijesh emerged as the winner among boys, while Mehak secured the first position among girls.

The final event for the day was Badminton, held in front of the Doctor's residence. Cheers resonated from the audience as the players vigorously competed against each other. The winners of the Badminton event were:

- Girls: Jasreen, BSc(N) 1st sem
