The students of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management (SACCM), Ludhiana, have once again demonstrated their academic excellence by securing 12 positions in the Panjab University Merit List, with students securing positions from 8th to 15th rank in the B.Com Second Semester examinations held in May, 2026. Among the meritorious achievers, Arshpreet Kaur secured the 8th position in the University. Ishmeet Kaur and Tanishka Setia secured the 11th position, while Yashika, Savanpreet Kaur, and Pawandeep Kaur attained the 12th position. Jupneet Singh, Khanak Gupta, Naitik Jain, and Trisha Kalra secured the 13th position, followed by Tavleen Kaur Grover at the 14th position. Gaurika Bansal secured the 15th position in the University Merit List. Chairman Padma Bhushan Sh. S. P. Oswal and Secretary Sh. R. K. Rewari congratulated the meritorious students and faculty members on this commendable achievement. They appreciated the students for their hard work, discipline, and determination and acknowledged the collective efforts of the faculty in nurturing students. Demonstrating consistent academic excellence, 10 students secured top positions at the university level. Among the top rankers, Nitya Jindal secured 2nd University Rank, followed by Bani Juneja at 3rd Rank, Saanidhya Jain at 4th Rank, Arsh*ta at 5th Rank, Angel Bansal at 9th Rank, and Akhila Nair, Diya Verma and Taksha Jain at 11th Rank, Kamya Chaturvedi at 12th Rank and Prisha Kalra securing 14th Rank in Panjab University. The Edu Talk Club of SACCM College organized an inspiring and insightful session on “Unstoppable: Mastering the Grit to Reach Your Goals” on 9 September 2026. The session was conducted by Mr. Narendra Singh Yadav, an IIT Roorkee alumnus, educator, mentor, Founder & CEO, Vidya Champ. Drawing from his professional journey, he encouraged students to embrace challenges, remain persistent, and develop the resilience and determination needed to achieve their goals.
A key highlight of the session was the speaker’s “Three Laws of Life”—putting efforts in the right direction, changing one’s attitude, and pursuing goals with passion and a positive mindset. Sharing insights from his experiences of challenges, failures, learning, and breakthroughs, he motivated students to remain “unstoppable” in the face of difficulties and adopt a growth-oriented approach towards their aspirations. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar appreciated the initiative and emphasized that such interactions play an important role in building students’ confidence, resilience, and determination to achieve their personal and professional goals.

The Zenith Computer Science (CS) Club of SACCM organised an expert session on the topic “Git and GitHub for Modern Software Development” for the students of the BCA Department on September 10, 2026. The resource person for the session was Mr. Aksh Malhotra, Director, AstirMind Software Solutions, Ludhiana.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar warmly welcomed the distinguished speaker and presented a sapling as a token of respect and gratitude. Mr. Aksh Malhotra conducted an insightful and engaging session, introducing students to the fundamentals of Git and GitHub and their significance in modern software development. He explained the concepts of version control, repositories, commits, branches, merging, cloning, pushing and pulling. The resource person demonstrated how Git and GitHub facilitate efficient code management, collaboration, project tracking and teamwork among developers. He also highlighted the importance of using these tools in academic projects as well as professional software development environments. The practical and interactive nature of the session enabled students to better understand the workflow of collaborative software development and encouraged them to explore Git and GitHub for their own projects.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks to the resource person for his valuable contribution and guidance. The Principal motivated the students to continuously enhance their technical skills, explore industry-relevant tools, and stay updated with emerging technologies. The session was coordinated by the faculty members and members of the Zenith CS Club, whose collective efforts contributed to the successful organisation of the event.

An industrial visit to Vardhman Textiles Limited, Ludhiana was organised on 12th September, 2026 for the students of BCA 5th Semester with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to the working of an IT Department in a large industrial organisation and to help them understand how information technology supports day-to-day business operations. During the visit, students were introduced to different operational areas and the role of IT in supporting sales and distribution, business applications, infrastructure, networking and connectivity. The visit was coordinated by Prof. Vijay Chhabra, Dr. Komal Sharma and Prof. Rishab Batra.

The students were given an overview of the organization’s IT infrastructure and the measures followed to maintain the security and smooth functioning of various systems. A key highlight of the visit was the interactive presentation delivered by Mr. Sanjay Goyal, who shared valuable insights into the organization’s IT infrastructure, application security and the role of technology in supporting business operations. The students learned about application and interface security, data encryption, data leakage prevention and the use of virtual networks for connecting different plants. Mr. Suresh further gave the students a detailed understanding of the Data Centre and explained the systems used for database management, regular backups and disaster recovery arrangements. Students were also introduced to the use of Business Intelligence (BI) tools and the way IT teams are organized to handle infrastructure and application-related responsibilities. The discussion also covered access control and the monitoring of digital information across different systems.

A major part of the visit focused on the infrastructure and safety systems used to support continuous operations. Students observed facilities and controls such as the 66 KV substation, temperature monitoring systems, fire alarm and gas leakage detection systems, water leakage detection, rodent monitoring and emergency water shower arrangements. They also learned about proper ventilation, controlled temperature conditions, the BMS control panel, sensors and automated alerts generated for registered systems. Routine testing and the checking of alarm systems were also discussed. Overall, the industrial visit was highly informative and gave the students a clearer understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity practices, networking, data management and the important role of technology in supporting business operations. The students expressed their sincere gratitude to Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar, the Management of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce & Management for organizing this valuable learning experience and looked forward to participating in more such industrial visits.

SACCM proudly announces the outstanding academic performance of its BCA 2nd Semester students in the Panjab University Examinations conducted in May 2026. Upholding the institution’s legacy of academic excellence, several students secured top positions in the university merit list, with five students achieving ranks within the Top 15.
Jiya brought great pride to the institution by securing the 6th position in the university. She is followed by Kulneev Singh who secured the 9th position. Manav Jindal, Paawan Sethi and Tanisha, all jointly added to the success by obtaining the 15th position in the university.
The Chairman of the Governing Body, Padma Bhushan Sh. S. P. Oswal, along with Secretary Sh. R. K. Rewari, extended their heartfelt congratulations to the students and faculty for this remarkable achievement. They appreciated the dedication and hard work that led to such commendable results.

Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, on September 09, 2026, hosted an intellectually charged and refreshingly interactive session, “In Conversation with Mr. Sachit Jain,” under its “Shape the Mind Programme”, bringing students face to face with one of the most accomplished voices of the industry. Mr. Sachit Jain is Chairman and Managing Director, Vardhman Special Steels Limited, Ludhiana. Far removed from the predictable format of a ceremonial lecture, the session was conceived as an open conversation, where questions had no prescribed boundaries and curiosity was given a free rein. The result was a candid, engaging and deeply enriching exchange between an accomplished industry leader and a generation eager to understand the world beyond textbooks. Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar formally welcomed Mr. Jain to the campus. The real pulse of the programme, however, lay in the interaction that followed. The students were given complete liberty to ask any question they wished. They seized the opportunity with remarkable enthusiasm, raising questions that traversed the entire spectrum of Mr. Jain’s life and professional experience, from his personal journey and career trajectory to the challenges he encountered, the challenges confronting him even today, and his vision for the future of India’s special steel industry in comparison with that of developed nations. Mr. Jain responded to the questions with striking candour and without inhibition. Nothing was wrapped in diplomatic language or reduced to textbook generalities. He spoke from experience, drawing upon the realities of the professional world and giving students something considerably more valuable than theoretical answers. His approachable demeanour was as striking as his knowledge. The students were visibly impressed by the ease, warmth and patience with which Mr. Jain entertained their questions. His comfortable and congenial attitude transformed what could have been a formal interaction into an authentic conversation. For the young participants, it was an opportunity to hear the realities of industry straight from the horse’s mouth. They were clearly bowled over by Mr. Jain’s pragmatic understanding, his clarity of thought and his ability to convert years of professional experience into lessons of immediate relevance to young minds. Mr. Jain, too, left no stone unturned to ensure that the students got their concepts right. He patiently addressed their queries, elaborated wherever necessary and ensured that the interaction remained meaningful rather than merely ceremonial. The session therefore became more than an exchange of questions and answers. It became a rare meeting point of experience and aspiration, where professional wisdom encountered youthful curiosity. The session was a fitting reflection of the philosophy behind SACCM’s “Shape the Mind Programme” to take education beyond the four walls of the classroom and place students in direct conversation with experience, enterprise and the realities of the professional world.

The College Library Advisory Committee organized a training session on the ProQuest
Database on 9th September 2026 for first-semester students of BBA, B.Com, and M.Com. The session aimed to equip students with the essential skills to access, search, and effectively utilize credible academic resources and databases for their research work and coursework. Mr. Arun Kumar Kalia, Senior Zonal Manager – Content & Technology Services, conducted the training and drew upon his extensive experience in technology solutions to offer valuable insights to the participants. He explained how ProQuest offers access to high-quality scholarly content that goes beyond what general search engines can provide. Students were walked through the process of accessing the database both on and off campus, and were introduced to key features including Basic and Advanced Search, filters, and Publication Search. The session further touched upon practical elements such as downloading articles, using the citation tool, and making use of the audio-read feature. In addition, students were shown how to set up personalized research alerts and organize their saved articles for easy future access — a feature many found especially relevant given their upcoming assignments. Faculty members in attendance welcomed the initiative, remarking that such early exposure to academic databases would go a long way in building a strong research foundation for students throughout their courses. The session wrapped up with an interactive Q&A round, which left students with a much clearer, hands-on understanding of the database and better equipped to carry out effective academic research going forward.

Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, on September 03, 2026, organised an intellectually stimulating and profoundly enriching session on the theme “Winning the Battle of the Mind for True Success” under its Shape the Mind Programme. The distinguished resource person for the expert talk was none other than the celebrated TEDx speaker and former IAS officer, Mr. Vivek Atray, whose erudition and eloquence rendered the occasion truly memorable. The programme commenced with a formal welcome extended by the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar, who warmly received the eminent speaker and expressed his earnest aspiration that the institution should continue to organise more such intellectually invigorating and value-oriented sessions for the holistic enrichment of its students and faculty. In his welcome address, he acquainted the gathering with the remarkable brilliance, persuasive eloquence, and multifaceted accomplishments of Mr. Atray. Dr. Puja Jain then introduced the distinguished resource person to the august gathering through her felicitous and laudatory words, setting an appropriately scholarly tone for the session. Thereafter, Mr. Atray took the centre stage and embarked upon an intellectually vibrant and animated discourse, weaving together wisdom, wit, experience, and practical insight with remarkable dexterity. A substantial portion of his discourse was devoted to the formidable potential and transformative power of youth in the contemporary era. Drawing upon pragmatic illustrations from quotidian life and his own rich reservoir of experiences, he elucidated how young minds can transcend limitations and emerge as architects of their own destiny. Mr. Atray underscored the indispensable virtues of a sense of humour, courage, resilience, and compassion, presenting them as essential constituents of a meaningful and successful life. He particularly accentuated the significance of having an exemplary role model. According to him, the trajectory of an individual’s life is profoundly influenced by the ideals and personalities one chooses to emulate. Dwelling upon the perennial question of what constitutes a truly successful life, Mr. Atray observed that money can purchase most things, but certainly not everything. The true touchstone of a good life, he maintained, is a profound sense of inner satisfaction and happiness. Only a contented and emotionally balanced individual, he asserted, can exercise sound judgement and make judicious decisions in life. The session was distinctly interactive and participatory in character. The gathering was unanimous in its appreciation of the illuminating and inspirational discourse delivered by Mr. Vivek Atray.
