Workshop on Martial Arts by Dr. Simarpreet Kaur

The Department of Physical Education at our college successfully organized a workshop on martial arts, conducted by the esteemed Dr. Simarpreet Kaur , on 17/01/2025. The event was held in two interactive sessions, morning and evening, to accommodate enthusiastic students.

Dr. Simarpreet Kaur, a renowned expert in martial arts, provided valuable insights into the techniques, discipline, and philosophy behind this art form. The workshop not only focused on practical skills for self-defense but also emphasized the importance of resilience, focus, and mental strength.

The 65th Inter-Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival 2024-25, organized by Panjab University, Chandigarh, was held at DAV College, Hoshiarpur. Among 68 participants from 7 zones, the students of Government College for Girls, Ludhiana, secured top positions in various events.

They won first prize in Group Dance, Mehndi, and Mime. They secured second position in Giddha, Elocution, Non-Percussion, Cartooning, and Still Life. They also won third prize in Indian Orchestra (and third prize individually), Landscape, Installation, Bagh, and Skit.

By winning the Overall Trophy, the students brought glory to their college. Principal Mrs Suman Lata congratulated all the in-charge officers and participating students. She blessed them for their future endeavors and encouraged them to continue their journey of success.

' MELA DHEEYAN DA ' CELEBRATED AT G.C.G, LUDHIANA
' Mela Dheeyan Da ' was celebrated amidst much gaiety and exuberance in the college campus of Govt. College for Girls, Ludhiana under the able guidance of Principal, Mrs. Suman Lata. Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Mann, wife of Hon’ble S. Bhagwant Singh Mann (Chief Minister, Punjab) was the chief guest and Mrs. Ramandeep Kaur, wife of Er. Manvinder Singh Giaspura, MLA (Payal) was the Guest of honour. Principal, Mrs. Suman Lata accorded a warm welcome to the worthy guests.
