At that time, no Honors and P.G. courses were conferred in this college. After that the college authority introduced 11 Honors courses viz. Bengali, English, Political Science, History, Philosophy, Education, Journalism and Mass Communication at B.A. Level ) and Geography, Physics,Chemistry (General), Mathematics, Computer Science at B.Sc. level). Further, the college authority introduced M.Sc. in
Geography, M.A. in Bengali and M.A. in Education at P.G. level. Distance education has also been introduced in 6 subjects at P.G. level viz. Bengali, English, Political Science, History, Sanskrit, Geography under Vidyasagar University and 4 subjects at P.G. Bengali, History, Education and Geography under Rabindra Bharati University.
100% students of Honors course pass the final examination with good marks, a large number of students obtain first class marks. 16 students have also passed the NET,SET,JRF examinations conducted by NTA and The West Bengal College Service Commission. 3 students have joined as Assistant Professors in Govt. Aided colleges of West Bengal. 2 students have cracked WBCS and more than 70 students joined jobs in various Government and corporate sectors each and every year. When the principal joined the college then only 8 classrooms including office room were there. At present there are 31 classrooms, 26 AC machines have been installed, smart classroom, virtual classroom and a fully furnished and seminar hall under wifi zone have been established. 50 CCTVs and 8 solar lights around the college ground have been set up. An open-stage has been built. 6 fully equipped laboratories, a large library room, reading room, departmental seminar libraries have been successfully set up for the students. Fees are collected from the students via online by Billdesk. Inflibnet system, E-library, LMS systems, online Career Counselling systems, online feedback systems for all the stakeholders have been prepared successfully. When the principal joined the college in 2002, the student strength was only 365, at present the student strength is near about 4500. All the facilities provided for the students - free wifi internet facility, gym, digitalised books, nearly 15000 books are there in the library. Students' stipend and concession facilities are there. The total course fees is very low and India Today Magazine has announced our fees structure to be the 3rd among 10 lowest fees taking colleges in India in 2021-22. The institution is accredited with 'A' Grade in its First cycle by NAAC on 05-11-2016. The college got nominated as Social Media Champion by MHRD in 2019. We have successfully got ATAL Ranking in 2020-21 as "band performer" among the Non-technical colleges. We have also procured Swaach-Bharat certificate. India Today magazine (published on 5th July, 2021) ranked our college as 6th among the top 10 best emerging colleges in India, 3rd Best Science College and 4th best Arts College in the Eastern Region. We also have received the ISO certificate. Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan has been started in the college and 5 villages under Kemia Khamarpara Gram Panchayat have been undertaken by our college to prepare them as model villages. When the principal joined the college there were only 7 teachers with 12 office staffs, presently there are 70 Teachers with 21 office-staffs. More than 30 teachers have obtained their PhD degree. Most of the teachers are publishing their papers in various renowned national and international journals on regular basis. Some teachers have also written books which have immensely helped the students. More than 60% minority community students are taught in this college along with many first generation learners. 58% girl students have been admitted to our college. Many of them are rank holders in the West Bengal State University. Our college has signed various MoU with various academic institutions, Madhyamgram Municipality, various NGO and many job oriented, career counselling institutions for mainly job oriented courses. The college has introduced various add-on courses, computer literacy programmes through WEBEL. The total academic atmosphere in and within the college campus is peaceful, calm and quite. The ambiance is very students'-friendly.
