Beginning a New Chapter in AI and Data Science at Thiagarajar School of Management

The inauguration of the Centre for AI and Data Science and Quantrix – The Analytics and Consulting Club marks an important milestone in TSM’s journey towards AI-driven learning, analytical thinking, experiential learning, research, and industry engagement.

The occasion brought together our Director, Dr. Murali Sambasivan, distinguished faculty members, research scholars, and students, along with our esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Vaidy Jayaraman, Professor and Director, Supply Chain Management & Analytics, Jindal School of Management, The University of Texas at Dallas, USA.

The programme commenced with the welcome address by Dr. Senthil, followed by the Director’s Address by Dr. Murali Sambasivan. Dr. Anupam Kesari shared the vision and role of the Centre for AI and Data Science, highlighting its potential to create an ecosystem for hands-on learning, experimentation, research, and innovation.

Dr. Nataraj presented the annual report of Quantrix, reflecting on the club’s journey and its initiatives over the past year, including DataVista, Big Brains, and industry consulting engagements. These initiatives provide students with opportunities to take learning beyond the classroom and apply analytics to real-world business challenges.

A key highlight of the inauguration was Dr. Vaidy Jayaraman’s insightful keynote, “Reimagining Analytics for the Next Generation of AI-Driven Business Schools,” offering valuable perspectives on how AI, analytics, and emerging technologies are reshaping management education. The session highlighted that analytics is not just about technology, but about better questions, meaningful insights, and better decisions.
