The main aim of our college is to impart higher education among the girl students. away from its previous location.

Mahishadal Girls' College, the only one women's college in Purba Medinipur District, was established on 1st August, 1969. Some local affluent persons viz Late Dr. Satyendranath Bhuniya, M.B., Late Rabindranath Singha, Late Dr. Haridas Sarkar, Late Gopal Chandra Mondal and many other eminent persons of the locality took the initiative to establish the college to spread the light of higher education

among the women of this predominantly rural area. The college started its journey from a rented building in Rathtala, Mahishadal with a modest number of staff members and students. In 2003, the college was shifted to the picturesque surroundings of Rangibasan, about 1 km. The college became affiliated to the University of Calcutta in July, 1969. At present, it is affiliated to Vidyasagar University. In its long journey, the college has gone strength to strength and updated itself to live up to the expectations of all its stakeholders. The college has been accredited at B level by NAAC Peer Team in 2006. At present, it has become a premier women's college of West Bengal. Students from different parts of our state are being imparted higher education in this college. We hope to render our college into a Centre of Quality Learning with the combined effort of our staff members, students and well-wishers.

The objectives of the college are as follows:

To develop integrated and elegant personality with sound mind and healthy body. To create sweet habit, sense of discipline and punctuality among our students. To provide both material and moral training which is very essential to create an ideal and responsible citizen. To shape them into tolerant, sincere and responsible person. To enhance their status and stature and to ensure the gender equality of the woman masses. To emancipate women folk from all kinds of social evils.

🌏 মহিষাদল গার্লস কলেজের NSS ইউনিট-১ #বিশ্ব_ম্যালেরিয়া_দিবস উপলক্ষে একটি সচেতনতা অভিযানের আয়োজন করেছে।
🪔 অভিযানের মূল উদ্দেশ্য ও কার্যক্রম:
🔔 সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি: শিক্ষার্থীরা ম্যালেরিয়ার ক্ষতিকর প্রভাব এবং এর প্রতিরোধ সম্পর্কে সাধারণ মানুষকে সচেতন করার জন্য পোস্টার তৈরি করেছে। পোস্টারগুলোতে জমা জল পরিষ্কার রাখা, মশারি ব্যবহার এবং ফুলহাতা পোশাক পরার মতো গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বার্তা দেওয়া হয়েছে।
📝পোস্টার মেকিং: ছবিগুলোতে দেখা যাচ্ছে ছাত্রীরা তাদের তৈরি পোস্টার প্রদর্শন করছে, যেখানে মশার বংশবৃদ্ধি রোধ এবং ব্যক্তিগত সুরক্ষার উপায় চিত্রিত করা হয়েছে।
🪪অংশগ্রহণ: এই অভিযানের মাধ্যমে তারা স্থানীয় মানুষজন এবং সহপাঠীদের মধ্যে ম্যালেরিয়া নির্মূলের লড়াইয়ে উদ্বুদ্ধ করছে।
ম্যালেরিয়া প্রতিরোধের উদ্দেশ্যে শিক্ষার্থীদের তৈরি পোস্টারগুলোতে সাধারণত নিচের সতর্কতাগুলো তুলে ধরা হয়:
🗑️জল জমতে না দেওয়া: টায়ার, ফুলের টব বা ডাব-এর খোলায় যেন জল না জমে সেদিকে খেয়াল রাখা।
📋ব্যক্তিগত সুরক্ষা: ঘুমানোর সময় মশারি ব্যবহার করা এবং শরীরে মশা তাড়ানোর ক্রিম বা লিকুইড ব্যবহার করা।
🔖পরিচ্ছন্নতা: বাড়ির চারপাশ পরিষ্কার রাখা এবং ঝোপঝাড় পরিষ্কার করা যাতে মশা বংশবৃদ্ধি করতে না পারে।
মহিষাদল গার্লস কলেজের NSS ইউনিট নিয়মিতভাবে এধরণের সামাজিক সচেতনতামূলক কাজ যেমন— পরিবেশ সুরক্ষা (Earth Day), কিডনি স্বাস্থ্য সচেতনতা এবং ডেঙ্গু সচেতনতা শিবিরের আয়োজন করে থাকে।

World Earth Day, which is celebrated annually on April 22.
The event is organized by NSS Unit-IV (National Service Scheme) of Mahishadal Girls' College, a college in Purba Medinipur, West Bengal, India. It is held in collaboration with the college's IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell).

Proud Moment for Mahishadal Girls' College ! 🇮🇳
We are delighted to share that two NSS volunteers (NSS Unit-II) of Mahishadal Girls' College have been selected for the National Finale of MY Bharat Budget Quest 2026, an initiative by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to engage youth with the Union Budget and national policy.
After competing among 12+ lakh participants nationwide, these students have reached Stage 3 – the National Finale, where winners will interact with Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and share ideas for a Viksit Bharat 2047. The finale is taking place in Ranchi on 12 and 13 April, 2026.

O little bird, come to your campus, Mahishadal Girls’ College awaits.
Date: 24/ 03/2026
The NSS Unit II of Mahishadal Girls’ College took a commendable initiative to provide relief to local birds during the sweltering heat. Recognizing the increasing challenges posed by rising temperatures, our NSS volunteers organized a campaign to set up water stations for birds in various locations around the campus and nearby areas.
In an innovative approach to sustainability, we repurposed waste materials such as plastic bottles, plastic pots and threads to create these water stations. By transforming discarded bottles into bird feeders, we not only addressed the immediate need for hydration but also contributed to reducing plastic waste in our environment. The bottles were carefully cleaned, filled with fresh water, and strategically placed in shaded areas to ensure that the birds could access them easily while staying cool.
Volunteers of our college have implanted 7 water station on trees for the birds to strengthen the human nature relationship and to increase the biodiversity within campus.

আমাদের কলেজ প্রাঙ্গণে ফুটেছে প্লেরোমা উরভিলিয়ানাম (Pleroma urvilleanum) ফুল । উজ্জ্বল বেগুনি এই ফুলটি সাধারণত #প্রিন্সেস_ফ্লাওয়ার বা #গ্লোরি_বুশ নামে পরিচিত ।
এর বড়, গাঢ় বেগুনি পাপড়ি এবং সুস্পষ্ট, স্বতন্ত্র সাদা পুংকেশর রয়েছে যা উপরের দিকে বাঁকানো থাকে।
এই ফুল গাছটি ব্রাজিলের। তবে এটি ক্রান্তীয় ও উপক্রান্তীয় জলবায়ুতে ভালোভাবে জন্মায়।
উষ্ণ অঞ্চলে সারা বছর ধরে এর চোখ ধাঁধানো ফুলের কারণে এটিকে বাগানে শোভাবর্ধক উদ্ভিদ হিসেবে রাখা যায়।

আজ আমাদের কলেজ পরিবারের এক বিশেষ দিন। দীর্ঘ কর্মজীবনের পর আমাদের প্রিয় শিক্ষাকর্মী বন্ধু শ্রদ্ধেয় গোবিন্দ অধিকারী মহাশয় আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে অবসর গ্রহণ করলেন।
বহু বছর ধরে তিনি নীরবে, নিষ্ঠার সঙ্গে আমাদের কলেজের নিরাপত্তা ও শৃঙ্খলা রক্ষায় নিজেকে নিয়োজিত রেখেছেন। শীত, গ্রীষ্ম, বর্ষা, রোদ, বৃষ্টি, ঝড়—কোনো কিছুই তাঁর দায়িত্ববোধকে টলাতে পারেনি। আমাদের সকলের কাছে ছিল ভরসার প্রতীক।
তিনি শুধু একজন কর্মচারী ছিলেন না, তিনি ছিলেন আমাদের পরিবারের একজন আপনজন। ছাত্রছাত্রীদের প্রতি তাঁর আন্তরিকতা, সহকর্মীদের প্রতি সৌহার্দ্য এবং কর্তব্যের প্রতি তাঁর নিষ্ঠা আমাদের সবার জন্য এক অনুকরণীয় উদাহরণ।
আজ তিনি কর্মজীবন থেকে অবসর নিলেও তাঁর স্মৃতি, তাঁর অবদান এবং তাঁর হাসিমুখ চিরদিন আমাদের হৃদয়ে অম্লান থাকবে।
আমরা তাঁর সুস্বাস্থ্য, দীর্ঘায়ু ও শান্তিময় জীবনের জন্য আন্তরিক প্রার্থনা করি। অবসর জীবন হোক আনন্দময়, পরিবারের সঙ্গে সময় কাটুক সুখে-শান্তিতে—এই আমাদের কামনা।

🌻আমাদের কলেজ প্রাঙ্গণ আজ যে রঙিন ফুলের আলোকোজ্জ্বল বর্ণে সৌরভে ভরে উঠেছে, তার পেছনে রয়েছে কিছু নিষ্ঠাবান মানুষের নিরলস পরিশ্রম, যত্ন এবং ভালোবাসা।
🌺আমাদের প্রিয় অধ্যক্ষা ড. অঞ্জলি মণ্ডল মহাশয়া, এবং অধ্যাপক ড. ভরত মালাকার (বিভাগীয় প্রধান, দর্শন বিভাগ), ও অধ্যাপক ড. সুমন কল্যাণ সামন্ত (বিভাগীয় প্রধান, নৃতত্ত্ব বিভাগ) মহাশয় কেবল শ্রেণিকক্ষেই জ্ঞানচর্চার আলো ছড়াননি, তাঁরা প্রকৃতির প্রতিও তাঁদের গভীর অনুরাগ ও দায়িত্ববোধের এক উজ্জ্বল দৃষ্টান্ত স্থাপন করেছেন। কলেজের বাগানে নিজ হাতে ফুলের গাছ রোপণ, নিয়মিত পরিচর্যা, এবং যত্নের মাধ্যমে যে সৌন্দর্য সৃষ্টি করেছেন, তা সত্যিই প্রশংসনীয়।।
🌺 আরো একজনের নিরলস পরিশ্রম আছে। তিনি হলেন আমাদের কলেজের শিক্ষাকর্মী চন্দনবাবু। চন্দনবাবু না থাকলে এই কাজ সম্পন্ন হত না।
🌸এই ফুলগুলো শুধু রঙ ও সৌন্দর্যের প্রতীক নয়—
এগুলো তাঁদের ধৈর্য, অধ্যবসায় এবং সৃজনশীলতার প্রতিচ্ছবি।
🌹আজ যখন আমরা প্রস্ফুটিত ফুলের দিকে তাকাই, তখন যেন উপলব্ধি করি—
শিক্ষা যেমন মনকে প্রস্ফুটিত করে, তেমনি যত্ন ও ভালোবাসা প্রকৃতিকে প্রস্ফুটিত করে।
🪴এই উদ্যোগ আমাদের শিখিয়েছে—
🪴পরিবেশের প্রতি দায়িত্ববোধ,
🪴সৌন্দর্যচর্চার গুরুত্ব,
🪴এবং সম্মিলিত সচেতনতার মূল্য,
🍁আমরা আন্তরিকভাবে তাঁদের এই মহৎ প্রচেষ্টার জন্য কৃতজ্ঞতা জ্ঞাপন করছি। তাঁদের এই উদ্যোগ ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মকে অনুপ্রাণিত করবে প্রকৃতি ও পরিবেশ রক্ষায় আরও সচেতন হতে।
