Teej Festival Celebrated with Traditional Fervour at DAV College, Malout

DAV College, Malout, under the able leadership of Principal , Dr. Rajesh Kumar, and In-charge, EMA & Youth Welfare , Dr. Mukta Mutneja, celebrated the Teej festival at the college. The celebrations beautifully reflected the rich cultural heritage and traditional spirit of Punjab.

The celebrations began with a warm and formal welcome to the Principal by staff members of the college.
Students enthralled the audience with colourful dance performances showcasing Punjabi culture and traditions. They also participated enthusiastically in various competitions, including Mehndi, Rangoli and Decorative Art making.
The celebrations reached a vibrant finale with an energetic Giddha performance, adding grace, joy and traditional charm to the occasion.
Principal congratulated the students and emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting our rich cultural heritage. He remarked:
“Festivals carry old stories, art forms, and folk songs from older generations to the young.”
Prof. Ram Manoj Sharma and Mrs. Rimpu, Co-in-charges, made dedicated efforts to make the celebration a grand success.
The event provided students with a wonderful opportunity to connect with, appreciate and celebrate the rich traditions, folk art and cultural heritage of Punjab.

D.A.V. College, Malout Observes Sadbhawna Diwas

On the occasion of Sadbhawna Diwas, celebrated today, 20 August 2026, the NSS Unit of D.A.V. College, Malout organised a Sadbhawna Pledge to promote the values of peace, communal harmony, emotional unity, mutual respect and national integration.

Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar, teaching and non-teaching staff, NSS Programme Officers, NSS volunteers and students participated in the pledge and reaffirmed their commitment to the ideals of unity in diversity, brotherhood and peaceful coexistence.

The participants pledged to work for the emotional oneness and harmony of all people, irrespective of caste, region, religion or language, and to resolve differences through dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence.

The observance aimed to sensitise young minds towards their role in strengthening national unity, communal harmony and social cohesion, and to inspire them to contribute towards building a peaceful and inclusive society.

🇮🇳 A Moment of Immense Pride for DAV College Malout! 🇮🇳

It is a matter of immense pride that, on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day Celebration at Grain Market, Malout, our student Anmol, B.A. 1st Year, was honoured by the Hon’ble SDM, Malout, and other dignitaries for securing 1st position in the Panjab University Examination. 🏆👏

Adding to the pride of the occasion, our NCC Cadets participated enthusiastically in the Independence Day Parade and were also honoured by the Hon’ble SDM, Malout, for their commendable participation and discipline. 🇮🇳🎖️

# # # 🕯️ **D.A.V. College, Malout Observes Partition Horrors Remembrance Day**

On the occasion of **Partition Horrors Remembrance Day**, the students of **D.A.V. College, Malout** observed a **Maun Vrat (silence)** to pay tribute to the innocent lives lost and to remember the immense suffering endured during the Partition of India.

A **Digital Exhibition on Partition** was also organized, showcasing historical memories, photographs and narratives that reflected the pain, displacement and hardships faced by people during the Partition. The exhibition provided students an opportunity to understand and reflect upon this significant chapter of history.

Through silence and remembrance, the students expressed their respect for the victims and reaffirmed the importance of **peace, unity, harmony and brotherhood**.
