2 days IEEE International Conference on Emerging Synergy, Science and Technology (ICESST 2026) organised by Srinivas University Institute of Engineering & Technology, SUIET Mukka, was inaugurated on 29 April at Hotel Srinivas. Chief Guest, Eminent Indian Space Scientist, Former Chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), and recipient of prestigious “Padma Shri” Award, Shri A. S. Kiran Kumar, inaugurated the conference by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The program was presided over by Dr. A. Srinivas Rao, Hon’ble Chancellor, Srinivas University. Dr. Venugopala P. S. (Chair, IEEE Mangalore Sub-Section), Shri Eshan Rao (Trustee-Member, Board of Governors, Srinivas University), and Dr. K. Sathyanarayana Reddy (Vice Chancellor, Srinivas University) were the Guests of Honour.
Dr. Anil Kumar (Registrar), Dr. Ajay Kumar (Registrar-Development), Dr. Ramakrishna N. Hegde (Dean, SUIET Mukka), Dr. Praveen Kumar B M (Director-Research, Srinivas University), Prof. Gaurav Prasad (Convener) were present on the dias.
Dr. Ramakrishna N Hegde delivered the welcome address and keynote address.
The conference has attracted 509 research paper submissions spanning multidisciplinary domains such as Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, and Fundamental Sciences. Following a rigorous review process, 152 high-quality papers have been selected for presentation. These will be presented by academicians, researchers, industry experts, and students arriving from various parts of the country and abroad. In addition to the paper presentations, the conference will feature keynote addresses, expert panel discussions, and project exhibitions, providing a comprehensive platform for intellectual exchange and technological showcase.
Guest of Honour, Dr. Venugopal P. S. presented a comprehensive overview of the IEEE and expressed his delight, and congratulated SUIET Mukka on this remarkable achievement. He emphasized that the quality of research work is clearly reflected in IEEE conferences and noted that such platforms provide an excellent opportunity for researchers to showcase their contributions to the field. He remarked that research is an ongoing, never-ending process that never reaches saturation, and highlighted the importance of knowledge sharing. He concluded by conveying his best wishes to all.
Vice Chancellor Dr. K. Satyanarayana Reddy, spoke about the Gurukula system, emphasizing its relevance in today’s context. He advised students to keenly observe the problems in society, seek guidance from their gurus or mentors, and strive to develop practical solutions in the form of products. Dr Satyanarayana Reddy underscored the importance of innovation, urging students to continuously identify real-world challenges, design optimal solutions, develop prototypes, and eventually transform them into viable products for the benefit of society and the nation.
In his inaugural address, Chief Guest “Padma Shri”, Dr. A. S. Kiran Kumar said that the world is evolving at an unprecedented pace, and consequently, advancements in science and technology are progressing just as rapidly. Humanity is increasingly relying on advanced tools for its existence, even as disruptive technologies continue to reshape development. Dr Kiran Kumar highlighted India’s significant contributions to space technology, referring to milestones such as Sputnik and the pioneering efforts of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai and Dr. Homi Bhabha. He noted with pride that India is now among the few nations capable of designing and building its own rockets and satellites. Dr Kiran Kumar observed that modern gadgets enable access to knowledge at remarkable speed, and pointed out that India has emerged as the fourth-largest economy, with the vision of becoming a global leader by 2047 under the “Viksit Bharat” initiative. He emphasized that science and technology are critical not only for survival but also for driving economic growth. At the same time, he cautioned that while gadgets are powerful tools, improper use may lead to manipulation, urging individuals to use them wisely. Shri Kiran Kumar further stated that as the world continues to advance with new technologies, it is essential to leverage these developments effectively. Referring to the Gurukula system, he underscored its role in addressing real-world challenges by transforming knowledge into practical technologies and tools for the betterment of humanity. He stressed the importance of continuous learning and knowledge acquisition, noting that in a rapidly evolving world, one’s value is reflected in the knowledge one possesses. Dr A S Kiran Kumar encouraged the development of intellectual capabilities and intelligent systems, and urged everyone to utilize their knowledge and skills to enhance the quality of life for others. Highlighting India’s ethos, he remarked that it is a nation that values human life as essential to the well-being of all living beings on Earth. He concluded by encouraging the enrichment of knowledge and skills, and congratulated Srinivas University for successfully organizing the prestigious IEEE International Conference.
On this occasion, conference proceedings was released by the dignitaries.
In his Presidential Remarks, Hon’ble Chancellor of Srinivas University, Dr. A. Srinivas Rao congratulated the organisers of the IEEE conference and expressed his appreciation for the insightful address delivered by Dr. A. S. Kiran Kumar. Dr Srinivas Rao remarked that change is the order of the day, and that only through innovation and the effective transformation of knowledge can human life be made more advanced and refined. Dr Srinivas Rao observed that technology has undergone remarkable transformation over the past decade, whether in digital media or other technological domains, enabling access to information at one’s fingertips within seconds. He further noted that India has made significant strides in technology over the past 12 years, and that the younger generation has become increasingly intelligent due to greater access to information. Dr Srinivas Rao urged the audience to focus on developing technology, gaining a clear understanding of concepts, and effectively implementing knowledge. He emphasized that hands-on training and practical exposure play a crucial role in enhancing students’ knowledge and skill sets. Dr Srinivas Rao also indicated that trade and commercial activities are likely to evolve into new dimensions in the future, and observed that elements of research and technology described in the Puranas reflect scientific thought. Highlighting institutional efforts, he stated that a range of innovation-driven activities have been incorporated into the curriculum, with a strong emphasis on improving skill levels. On this occasion, DR Srinivas Rao requested Dr. A. S. Kiran Kumar to extend his guidance and support to the students and faculty members of Srinivas University in the near future.
Dr. Sandhya Shenoy introduced the Chief Guest. Dr Praveen B M delivered the Vote of Thanks. Ms Anagha performed the invocation. The program was compered by Prof Rohan Fernandes. HODs, Faculty Members, Staff, Students and invitees from various colleges, universities and industries were present.
