A Tuberculosis Awareness Programme – TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was organized by the NCC wing of Mangala College of Allied Health Sciences, Mangaluru, on 20 August 2026.
The programme aimed to create awareness about tuberculosis, its prevention, early detection, and the importance of timely treatment. Ms. Vaishnavi Shettigar, Lecturer, Department of Respiratory Therapy, served as the resource person and delivered an informative session on TB and its prevention.
The programme was attended by 42 NCC cadets, the ANO and one PI Staff member.
The session was interactive and helped the participants gain valuable knowledge about tuberculosis and their role in spreading health awareness.

Students from the Department of Optometry were part of a Free Health Checkup Camp held at Subramanya Bhajana Mandira Neermarga, on 08 August 2026.

Through this health initiative, students carried out free vision screening for approximately 75 patients.

Patients requiring vision support received complimentary spectacles reflecting our dedication to community eye care and public health.

Students from the Department of Optometry, actively participated in a Free Blood Donation Camp held at Sri Niketana Mandir, Kalanja, on 02 August 2026. As part of the community outreach program, students conducted free vision screening for over 100 patients. Free spectacles were also distributed to beneficiaries requiring vision correction, demonstrating the department's commitment to community eye care and public health.
