The Indo-Swiss movie screening took place in LH1 Attavar on 11th April 2018.

Mr. Thai, came from Switzerland to visit India as part of a cultural exchange programme. His trip includes visiting 34 Indian cities including Mangalore. He hoped to make us understand the movie cultural prevalent in Switzerland and to understand our culture and hoped to take back some of it to his country.

The event was a huge success due to the enthusiastic audience who thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

The COLOSSEUM quiz competition was organised by DSA 2017-2018 on 12th march, 2018 on the fifth day of the dental week , COLOSSEUM 2018 at the Manipal College of Dental Sciences , Light House Hill.
The quiz masters for this evening were Mr.Danish Ali Sayed and Mr. Bibaswan Rick Mallick.
It was conducted as “POUNCE and BOUNCE" and had 4 rounds.
The quiz was a fun watch and a true learning experience for both the participants and the audience.

The 1st and the 3rd positions were bagged by the CATHEXIS and the 2nd position was bagged by the MORPHIANS.

he Clay Modelling competition was organized by Manipal College of Dental Sciences on 12th March, 2018, on the fifth day of Colosseum at MCODS, Light House Hill road.

The judges for the event were Dr.Vinod Jatanna, Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics and Mr. Rajesh, Art enthusiast and an expert.

The Morphians stood first with their intricate and beautiful depiction of the painful effects of deforestation and how intricately it is intertwined with human life. Coming in a close second Cathexis won hearts with their sculpture depicting the insensitivity of media, how the focus from real world issues is given lesser importance as compared to bollywood tabloid articles etc.. and lastly but certainly not the least The Messiahs bagged the third position with their exquisitely beautiful peacock sculpture inspired from the supreme hindu god, Lord Krishna.

Mime competition was organised by DSA 2017-2018 on 11th march, 2018 on the fourth day of the dental week , COLOSSEUM 2018 at the Manipal College of Dental Sciences , Mangalore being the last event for the day.

The event was organized at the rooftop of the Light House Building. The event started at 8 in the evening and was supported by a huge crowd consisting of students from different batches. Each batch had 1 team participating in the event . It was mesmerizing to see the participants acting out the stories so well with their body movements.

The event was judged by Dr Junaid Ahmed - Associate professor at Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology and Staff Advisor in MCODS Mangalore and and Dr Anand- Ex President of DSA, Mcods Mangalore and presently Post Graduage in Department of Oral Surgery in Yenepoya College.

The most awaited results were as follows -First position was bagged by the team Messiahs who depicted the Scene at Local Market, Second position by the team Necromancers who depicted the Scene at Beach and third by the team Cathexis who depicted Election Campaign. With this the fourth day of the dental week concluded.

MOCK PRESS

Mock Press competition was organised by DSA 2017-2018 on 11th march, 2018 on the fourth day of the dental week , COLOSSEUM 2018 at the Manipal College of Dental Sciences , Mangalore .

The event was organized at the rooftop of the Light House Building. The event started at 7 in the evening and was supported by huge crowd from various batches. The participants were very witty in answering the questions asked by the press club/judges and played their roles well with full dynamism and enthusiasm.

The event was judged by Mr Rakesh -Deputy Manager and Incharge in Marketing department at KMC Hospital , Attavar , Dr Subramanium -Reader in the Department of Orthodontics at Yenepoya Dental College and Dr Vinod Jatana- Associate Professor in Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics at MCODS Mangalore.

The resluts were as follows- First place being bagged by Virushka from the team Necromancers , second by Ranveer Singh from the team Mechatrons and third by Baba Ram Rahim from the team Cathexis.
