Manipal Centre for European Studies (MCES) was established in December 2009 with a call for proposals from the Delegation of European Union to India to establish Centre for European Studies in India and Contemporary India Study Centres in Europe. Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) became the only private university to have been selected among the three centres established in this call and

MCES became a further testament to the University’s commitment and belief in the sans-border education. In 2018, MCES was awarded with the prestigious Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence by the European Union.

Join us today at 4:30 PM in LH4, Old WGSHA Building for a special lecture with Professor Barbara Sobczak, a distinguished philologist and linguist from the Faculty of Polish and Classical Philology at Adam Mickiewicz University, Poland. Her expertise spans public and media discourse and the pragmatic, rhetorical dimensions of contemporary Polish. Professor Sobczak is the author of "The Rhetoric of Television" (Poznań, 2018) and "Live Television Interview", "Characteristics of the Genre" (Poznań, 2006), and co-author of the textbook "Exercises in Rhetoric" (Warsaw, 2010).
