MAHE and Griffith University launch a Dual PhD Programme backed by a landmark AUD 100,000 commitment to strengthen India–Australia research collaboration.

Building on more than a decade of collaboration, the two institutions are further strengthening their partnership through the proposed Griffith–MAHE Centre of Research Excellence and a shared vision for globally connected research and doctoral education.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the MAHE Bengaluru campus by Dr. Sharath K Rao, Vice Chancellor, MAHE, and Dr. Carolyn Evans, Vice Chancellor and President, Griffith University, in the presence of academic leaders from both institutions, including Prof. (Dr.) Madhu Veeraraghavan, Pro Vice Chancellor, MAHE B'LRU , and Mr. Stevan Connolly, Deputy Consul, Australian Consulate.

𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐡𝐃 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞:
• Joint supervision by faculty from both universities
• Research opportunities across both campuses
• Access to international research infrastructure and global academic networks
• Dual doctoral degrees through a single integrated research programme
The collaboration will initially focus on health and transdisciplinary research, with future expansion planned across engineering, information technology, digital health, sustainability, sports science, humanities, and other emerging interdisciplinary fields.

As part of the initiative, both institutions will establish a Collaborative Seed Funding Scheme supported by a joint AUD 100,000 commitment to advance high-impact research projects over the next three years.
Congratulations to the Office of International Affairs and Collaborations and the Centre for Doctoral Studies teams for achieving this important milestone and strengthening MAHE’s global research ecosystem.

To reduce dependence on fossil fuels and conventional electricity, the campus has adopted two major rooftop solar technologies.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University, successfully hosted the 3rd Convocation of the Directorate of Online Education (DoE) today, celebrating the academic achievements of learners from across India and around the world who have embraced the transformative power of online education.

Held as part of MAHE’s 33rd Convocation celebrations, the ceremony marked an important milestone for the university’s growing digital learning ecosystem, bringing together graduating students, faculty members, academic leaders, industry representatives, parents, and guests in recognition of perseverance, ambition, and lifelong learning.

The convocation reflected the growing significance of online education in enabling quality learning experiences beyond geographical boundaries and conventional classroom settings. Since its launch in 2020, MAHE’s Directorate of Online Education has expanded its footprint significantly, with learners from 59 countries enrolling across its programmes. Today, the online education ecosystem caters to over 13,694 students through a portfolio of undergraduate, postgraduate, and certificate programmes designed to align with evolving industry and professional requirements.

As our graduates step into the next phase of their professional journeys, MAHE extends its heartfelt congratulations and wishes them continued success in their future endeavours.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University, successfully hosted its 33rd Convocation in Mangaluru today, setting its graduating students on the path towards building rewarding careers.

The convocation ceremony brought together an eclectic gathering that included graduates, faculty members, university leadership, parents, dignitaries, and guests in celebration of academic excellence, perseverance, and new beginnings.

This year, a total of 1258 students graduated in undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes; of these, 576 students attended the convocation ceremonies in person. The prestigious Dr TMA Pai Gold Medal was conferred on three outstanding students from various constituent institutions of MAHE – Mr Navallpreet Singh Bhamra, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal (BDS), Ms Adeeba Ali, Mcods Mangalore (BDS), and Ms Chaitra Shenoy U, Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore (MBBS batch of 2021-22).
