MAHE and Griffith University launch a Dual PhD Programme backed by a landmark AUD 100,000 commitment to strengthen IndiaโAustralia research collaboration.
Building on more than a decade of collaboration, the two institutions are further strengthening their partnership through the proposed GriffithโMAHE Centre of Research Excellence and a shared vision for globally connected research and doctoral education.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the MAHE Bengaluru campus by Dr. Sharath K Rao, Vice Chancellor, MAHE, and Dr. Carolyn Evans, Vice Chancellor and President, Griffith University, in the presence of academic leaders from both institutions, including Prof. (Dr.) Madhu Veeraraghavan, Pro Vice Chancellor, MAHE B'LRU , and Mr. Stevan Connolly, Deputy Consul, Australian Consulate.

โข Joint supervision by faculty from both universities
โข Research opportunities across both campuses
โข Access to international research infrastructure and global academic networks
โข Dual doctoral degrees through a single integrated research programme
The collaboration will initially focus on health and transdisciplinary research, with future expansion planned across engineering, information technology, digital health, sustainability, sports science, humanities, and other emerging interdisciplinary fields.
As part of the initiative, both institutions will establish a Collaborative Seed Funding Scheme supported by a joint AUD 100,000 commitment to advance high-impact research projects over the next three years.
