A power-packed 2-day Workshop by the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, in collaboration with SORG India and KLS Martin, held on 18–19 December at MCODS Manipal.

🧠 Day 1: Insightful academic sessions by renowned international & national faculty covering condylar fractures, orthognathic surgery & distraction osteogenesis.
🛠️ Day 2: Short insightful lectures followed by exclusive hands-on workshop with practical training in distractor placement for postgraduates.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from multiple dental colleges across Mangalore, Sulia, and Shivamogga, fostering inter-institutional learning and collaborative academic exchange.

The session was delivered by Dr. Abhishek Parolia, Associate Professor, Research Director, and Director of Predoctoral Education, Department of Endodontics, University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics, USA, who shared valuable evidence-based insights and emphasized translating research into routine clinical practice.

The Department of Periodontology, MCODS, Manipal, proudly marks its presence at the ISP Golden Jubilee National Conference, New Delhi (17–20 December 2025).

🔹 Dr. Santhosh Kumar, Professor & HOD, chaired a scientific session and presented his paper on “Management of Deficient Alveolar Ridge Using Titanium Mesh.”

🏆 Dr. Shashikiran, Senior Lecturer, received the Best Paper Award (Preventive Periodontology) for his research on Triglycerides-to-HDL Cholesterol Ratio and Periodontitis.

✨ “Post-traumatic trigeminal neuropathy: Navigating through the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Maze”

Kudos as well to Dr. Bhanu Priya, 3rd-year Postgraduate, who secured 1st Prize in the Scientific Paper Presentation for her research:
✨ “CBCT-Guided Evaluation of Mandibular Third Molar Impaction, Cortical Plate Thickness, and Safe Surgical Pathways for Lingual Nerve Preservation.”

In celebration of MAHE 2025 – Year of Excellence in Industry–Academia Collaborations, the Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal, in association with the Rotary Club of Honnavar, successfully organized another free complete denture camp for edentulous patients on November 19th and November 22nd, 2025.

On the first day (November 19th), procedures from primary impressions to try-in were completed, followed by denture insertions on November 22nd 2025. A total of 21 patients benefited from this initiative, receiving free complete dentures fabricated and delivered by final-year undergraduate students, under the guidance of postgraduate students and faculty members.

The camp saw enthusiastic involvement from 21 undergraduate students, 18 postgraduate students, 12 faculty members, and 6 dental technicians. Clinical activities were conducted from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM on the first day, with denture delivery successfully completed by 2:30 PM on the second day.

The Rotary Club of Honnavar extended wholehearted support by arranging transportation and mobilization of patients from Honnavar district. Breakfast, Lunch and refreshments were provided for the patients, ensuring their comfort throughout the program.

The camp concluded on a successful note, with the collaborative efforts of all participants contributing to its smooth ex*****on and meaningful impact.

Children’s Day 2025 – Small Steps to Big Smiles!

Proud to share the incredible impact made during our Children’s Day 2025 community outreach initiative, conducted by the Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry in collaboration with the Department of Public Health Dentistry, MCODS Manipal.

Under the theme “Healthy Hands, Healthy Mouths, Happy Hearts – Small Steps to Big Smiles”, our team reached 950+ children across government, private, aided, and special schools in the Manipal–Udupi region.
Key Highlights:
• Comprehensive oral health education sessions
• Toothbrushing demonstrations & interactive quizzes
• Dental screenings and on-site treatments
• Outreach to schools, orphanages & special institutions
• Free toothpaste distribution through industry collaboration
• Continued care at the MCODS Pediatric dental clinic

Dr. Shyam S, Postgraduate Student, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology, has been awarded the Best Paper Award for his research titled “Prognostic and Clinicopathological Association of Cadherin-11 in Gingivobuccal Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma.”

This achievement was made under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Raghu Radhakrishnan, Dr. Chetana Chandrashekar, and Dr. Smitha Sammith Shetty.

The recognition was conferred at the 32nd National Conference of the Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologists, organized by ITS Dental College, Ghaziabad, held from 14th to 16th November 2025.
