The Arabic and Islamic History (Double Main) course was started in 1979, this was the seventh degree course introduced in M.E.S. Kalladi College since its establishment in 1967. The first batch started with 2 students who successfully completed the course. had left the institution with First Class in 1982, since then 33 batches have left the institution up to 2014. From the Second batch the studen
ts began to grab University Ranks in the degree examinations. bagged the second rank and Mr. Muhammed Rasheed the third rank in 1983. From 1985 the course gained a momentum having admitted 40 students. Even then the winning spree with 100% results and top Ranks in university level continued, to the present moment there had been more than 29 rank holders from this dept..In short, the Arabic and Islamic History department is always in forefront with flying colors in university examinations thereby adding new crowns of victory in the head of the college. MA Islamic History course has been started in this academic year with 15 numbers of students. This is the 7th PG course introduced in MES Kalladi College. Dr. PP Muhammed (Former Registrar, University of Calicut) Inaugurated the MA Islamic History course on 1st November 2013. A good number of the Alumni of the department are absorbed by the schools in Kerala. A unique virtue of the B.A course is that they are qualified to be teachers in Primary and Upper Primary schools without further training. Many of the students because of their ability in both Arabic and English are working in CBSE and other unaided schools as Arabic teachers. A good number of them are abroad in high salaried posts. They also work as Translators, PROs, Private Assistants, School and College Teachers. is the progress of the down trodden community of the backward areas of Malabar in general and that of Muslim Community in particular. The MES leaders had the vision to start a course with the combination of Arabic and Islamic History to impact Islamic knowledge to the students of the community. Thus the mission of the course is to inculcate good religious and moral instructions to the students there by moulding the character of students to the benefit of the college and society as a whole.
