A two-day Millet Festival was being held in Mehsana (Gujarat) on 21st –22nd March 2026 to promote ‘Shree Anna’ (Millets) and support farmers. The Millet Mahotsav aims to raise awareness about the nutritional benefits of millets, support natural farming practices, and strengthen the link between farmers and consumers while improving farmers’ income.

In this Expo, one stall was set up by DudhSagar Dairy in order to create awareness and directly sell organic millets as well as millet-based products to consumers. From MIDFT, our B.Tech (DT) students also participated enthusiastically in the event and showcased millet based products developed by them on both the days.

The Boot Camp on “Innovate with Science: Learn by Doing” was organized on 17th -18th March 2026 with the objective of sensitizing for class 5th – 8th students of Sankalp Public School, Mehsana. The camp aimed to highlight the need for innovation and showcase advancements across various fields of science. A total of 48 students actively participated in the two-day programme. The boot camp featured a range of engaging activities including expert sessions and hands-on training focused on scientific innovations. These activities were designed to inspire curiosity, foster creativity, and encourage students to think innovatively about real-world challenges.

On Friday, 13th March 2026, Innovation cell of Mansinhbhai Institute of Dairy & Food Technology (MIDFT), Mehsana, organized a one-day “Food Product Innovation Contest (FPIC)” under the Students Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP 2.0). The event was held from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM and witnessed enthusiastic gathering of more than 200 students, faculty mentors and DudhSagar dairy officials. There was a presence of more than 115 students who participated in the event from various institutes across Gujarat.

The Sport team of MIDFT 16 students (10 Boys and 6 Girls) have participated in various events of the Athletic Events – 2026 along with 11 colleges of Kamdhenu Univeristy at College of Veterinary Science & A. An interaction session for the currently admitted first-semester students of B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) was organized on 12 January 2025 at 4:00 PM in the Seminar Hall of MIDFT, Mehsana.

The session was graced by the presence of the Honourable Chairman of Dudhsagar Dairy, Shri Ashokbhai Chaudhary, Executive Director of MIDFT, Shri P. B. Bhambi, along with other esteemed Directors of the DURDA Board.

During the programme, cheques of “Sahay” provided by DURDA to the children of members of the Mehsana District Cooperative Milk Union were distributed to the eligible students admitted to the institute. In the academic year 2025–26, a total of five students received tuition fee assistance under this scheme, with 40% support for boys and 60% support for girls.

Addressing the students, the Honourable Chairman highlighted the vast opportunities in the dairy and food sectors, emphasizing the role of emerging technologies, innovations, and research in shaping the future of these industries. He encouraged students to develop technical competence, professionalism, and a progressive outlook to meet industry demands.

The session concluded with the Honourable Chairman extending his best wishes for the bright academic and professional future of the students.

Unveiling of Innovation booklet "Technologies Available for Commercialization at MIDFT, Mehsana."

On the auspicious occasion of the 77th Republic Day 26.1.2026, The booklet was officially unveiled by our Hon'ble Chairman, Shri Ashokbhai Chaudhary (Chairman, GCMMF - Amul and Dudhsagar Dairy, Mehsana) in Gracious presence of Shri Dashrathbhai Patel, Vice Chairman, Dudhsagar Dairy, Shri Ganeshbhai Desai, Mehsana, Shri Dhiraj Kumar Chaudhary, I/C Managing Director, Dudhsagar Dairy, Shri P. The Boot Camp on “Innovate with Science: Learn by Doing” was organized from 27th to 29th August 2025 with the objective of sensitizing Class VII students of Shri Motibhai R Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School (MCSSS), Mehsana. A total of 66 students actively participated in the three-day event. The boot camp featured a range of engaging activities including expert sessions and hands-on training focused on scientific innovations. These activities were designed to inspire curiosity, foster creativity, and encourage students to think innovatively about real-world challenges. Participation certificates were distributed to all students in recognition of their active involvement. Overall, the boot camp proved to be a valuable experience, successfully sowing the seeds of innovation and creative thinking in the young minds of the participants.
