JEE mains 2014: It's time to gear up!
_____________________________
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) came into existence in the year 2013 replacing the All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE).

The JEE is conducted in two phases, namely Mains and Advanced. JEE Mains score is used for admissions to undergraduate engineering programmes in NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded technical institutions in India. JEE Advanced on the other hand, is used for admissions to IITs.

Candidates in the top 1, 50, 000 list of JEE mains will be eligible to appear for the JEE advanced. The JEE mains offline, this year is scheduled to be conducted on April 6, whereas online it will conducted on April 9, April 11, April 12 and April 19.

If you are worried about cracking these exams and want to avoid the silly mistakes, here's a look on what you need to keep in mind while attempting the exam:

1. Do not go for the online exam if you are not fully aware of it or if you are not comfortable with it. In case of any doubts, go for the usual offline mode of exam.

2. If you are attempting the online mode of exam, make sure to watch your speed. Use rough sheets whenever required. In case of any technical issue, bring it into the notice of your invigilator immediately.

3. Once you get the question paper, read it thoroughly. Plan your time in advance leaving some time for revision as well. Before submitting the actual sheet of exams, go through the answers and pattern well, so as to not provide any chance for silly reduction in marks.

4. After receiving the question paper, if you find it difficult to solve, do not panic. It is the relative performance that matters. Write down as much as you know. And try to not leave any question un-attempted.

5. Solve the questions you know completely and thoroughly first, and then go for the lesser-known answers.

Exam Dates of JEE (Mains) :

JEE Main Paper Based Exam (Paper 1): April 6
Time Slot 9.30 am to 12.30 pm
JEE Main Paper Based Exam (Paper 2): April 6

JEE Main 2014 Computer Based Test: April 9, 11, 12 and 19 (2 slots available)
