Dasmesh Girls College, Chak Alla Baksh, Mukerian, celebrated the festival of with great enthusiasm and joy. The vibrant celebration was organised with the objective of acquainting students with the rich cultural heritage of Punjab and encouraging them to preserve traditional customs and pass them on to future generations.
The Principal of the College, , highlighted the importance of Punjabi traditions and festivals in preserving cultural identity.
The programme witnessed a colourful array of cultural activities and competitions. Students presented various folk dances, folk songs, Bhangra, Bhand, Giddha, Virasati Quiz, Debate Competition, handicrafts and other traditional performances. Their lively and captivating presentations enthralled the audience and created an atmosphere filled with the spirit of Punjabi culture.
The Department of Fashion Designing and the Department of Fine Arts also organized exhibitions displaying beautiful and creative artworks, adding further charm to the celebrations.
The food stalls set up during the Teej fair added to the festive spirit and provided an enjoyable experience for the students and visitors.
A special highlight of the celebration was the selection of the “Teej Di Shaan” and “Teej Di Rani.” The title of “Teej Di Shaan” was won by (Class XI Commerce), while (B.Sc. Fashion Designing) was crowned “Teej Di Rani.”
Chairperson, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. She extended her warm wishes to the students on Teej and encouraged them to remain connected with and preserve their rich cultural heritage. The presence of , , and further enhanced the grace of the occasion.
The entire college staff and students participated enthusiastically in the celebration.
