MET Institute of Pharmacy proudly hosted Lumiere 2026 on 2nd April 2026, a distinguished celebration of academic excellence, talent, and unity. The event exemplified the institute’s commitment to holistic development, commencing with a traditional inauguration and followed by insightful addresses from esteemed dignitaries.

The formal session featured insightful addresses by Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, Mumbai Educational Trust, along with Dr. Abha Doshi, Principal, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) and Dr. Suryakant Bhosale, Principal, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma). The function then highlighted the events in the academic year 2025-26 for all the cultural and co-cultural activities by the General Secretaries Mr. Atharva Khapare, Ms. Vrukshi Sankhe and Ms. Diya More, along with the cultural in-charges Dr. Madhura Vaidya, Ms. Vrushali Keer, and Mrs. Payal Chavan.

A key highlight of the event was the unveiling of “The Nest”, the official Pharmacy Degree magazine, centred on the theme Social and Preventive Pharmacy, reflecting the evolving role of pharmacists in advancing community health.

The ceremony also recognised outstanding academic achievers, acknowledged cultural contributions, and honoured the spirit of sportsmanship, with the Third Year B. Pharmacy students securing the sports trophy. The consistent efforts and dedication of the student council significantly contributed to the success of the event.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) organized a one-day industrial visit to Umang Encapsulation and Solutions Ltd. on 18th March 2026, offering students valuable practical exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.

During the visit, students explored key departments including Production, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance, gaining deeper insights into quality standards, regulatory compliance, and industrial operations. Around 40 students participated enthusiastically, accompanied by Faculty Mrs. Vaishali Malvankar, making the experience highly interactive and engaging.

This industry immersion helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, equipping students with the practical understanding required for a dynamic career in the pharmaceutical sector.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma), in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-e-Punjab, successfully organized a comprehensive CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training session for MET Institute of Pharmacy Diploma and Degree students along with faculty members.

The session, conducted by Dr. Akshay Mehta, offered an in-depth understanding of emergency response techniques, focusing on the critical importance of timely intervention during cardiac emergencies. Participants were guided through essential procedures including effective chest compressions, airway management, and immediate response strategies.

What made the session particularly impactful was the hands-on training component, where students and staff actively practiced CPR techniques under expert supervision. This practical exposure not only strengthened their technical skills but also instilled the confidence required to respond effectively in real-life critical situations.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) organised an educational field visit to K.V. Nisarg Ayurvedic Pharmacy on 10th and 11th March 2026 for First Year Diploma in Pharmacy students. A total of 39 students participated in this experiential learning initiative.

During the visit, students explored a wide range of Ayurvedic formulations and products including Amla Churna, Triphala Churna, Neem Taila, Gulab Jal, Gymnema Sylvestre (Gurmar), therapeutic oils, skin care products, and herbal health tonics. They also gained insights into product labelling, formulation techniques, storage conditions, and the therapeutic uses of Ayurvedic medicines in healthcare.

The visit offered valuable exposure to traditional Ayurvedic practices, consultations, and alternative healing therapies such as acupressure therapy. This enriching experience helped students strengthen their understanding of herbal medicines and appreciate the role of traditional medicine in modern healthcare, making the learning process more practical, interactive, and memorable.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) organized a comprehensive two-day Skill Development Training on 27th and 28th January 2026, in collaboration with GTT Foundation, Pune, with the objective of equipping students with essential personal, interpersonal, and professional skills required in today’s competitive environment. The training was conducted by Ms. Apurva C. Oak, an experienced soft skills trainer, who guided students through structured and engaging sessions on self-awareness, personality development, effective communication, public speaking, presentation skills, goal setting using the SMART framework, critical thinking, and assertiveness.

The programme also emphasized professional behaviour, resume and CV writing, LinkedIn profile development, interview preparation, and SWOT analysis, enabling students to enhance their confidence, improve employability, and plan their career paths effectively. The interactive sessions, enriched with group discussions and practical activities, made the learning experience impactful and meaningful. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Zoya Khan.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) organised an educational field visit to Maharashtra Nature Park, Dharavi, for First Year Diploma Pharmacy students on 22nd January 2026. A total of 41 students participated in this enriching visit aimed at enhancing their understanding of medicinal plants, biodiversity, and environmental sustainability.

The park, developed by MMRDA on an erstwhile dumping ground, stands today as a thriving mini forest with over 14,000 trees and more than 300 varieties of plants. During the visit, students explored various sections including the Butterfly Garden, Medicinal Plants Garden, Nakshatra Van, and the Rainwater Harvesting Pond. They were introduced to numerous medicinal plants such as Shatavari, Gymnema, Gokhru, Brahmi, Tulsi, Curcuma, Vasaka, and Arjuna, along with their botanical names and therapeutic uses.

Students also gained insights into vermicomposting, ecological conservation, and the role of such green spaces in urban environments. The visit successfully blended academic learning with environmental awareness, making it a memorable experience filled with knowledge, curiosity, and appreciation for nature.
