On December 3, 2025, MET Institute of Computer Science collaborated with collaborated with the United Way NGO. The MCA students successfully embarked on a beach clean-up initiative at Mahim Beach, demonstrating a commitment to environmental stewardship.

Students performed their tasks diligently, removing significant amounts of plastic debris and efficiently segregating the collected waste. Their efforts resulted in noticeably cleaner shores, contributing directly to the safeguarding of marine ecosystems.

Participants gained reflective, first-hand knowledge of the devastating impact of environmental pollution. The successful event effectively instilled a heightened sense of social responsibility and a lasting appreciation for the environment among MET's future professionals.

A session on ‘Project Management – A Real World Perspective’ was conducted for MCA students of MET Institute of Computer Science by Ms. Sangeeta Shetty, Consulting Technical Manager at Oracle, on 22nd November 2025.

Ms. Shetty provided practical insights into managing real-time projects, highlighting key aspects such as project planning, stakeholder communication, risk management, resource allocation, and agile methodologies. She shared industry experiences and challenges faced during enterprise-level implementations. The session helped students understand how theoretical project management concepts are applied in IT organizations.

A session on ‘Data Structures – How Industries Use Data Structures Beyond the Classroom’ was conducted for MCA students of MET Institute of Computer Science by Mr. Zark Kazi, Senior Executive Business Analyst at Motilal Oswal Financial Services Limited on 22nd November, 2025.

Mr. Kazi explained the students how real-world projects rely on data structures at the backend and demonstrated how different components of applications use specific structures such as stacks, queues, trees, graphs and hash tables. Through industry-based examples, he showcased how data structures power scalable systems, decision-making tools and application performance.

Mumbai Educational Trust hosted a session on 18th November 2025 as part of The Bitcoin India Tour, a nationwide initiative led by SwapSo, an IIT Bombay alumni-driven startup. The session was conducted by Mr. Amol Bole, a banking professional, who explained the significance of Bitcoin, its real-world applications, underlying blockchain technology, and career opportunities in tech, research, and open-source innovation.

A practical demonstration was also conducted, where students installed the SwapSo platform to understand its workings hands-on. MCA and PGDM students at MET actively participated, gaining valuable experience in decentralized finance. The session was highly informative and generated strong interest in the future of cryptocurrency.

A session on “Latest Trends in Databases” was conducted for MCA students of MET Institute of Computer Science by Dr. Aarti Karande, Assistant Professor at Sardar Patel Institute of Technology.

Dr. Karande highlighted the transition from conventional databases to modern systems, covering multimedia, distributed, document-oriented, mobile, embedded and cloud databases. Emerging technologies such as serverless databases, graph databases, edge databases and blockchain-based data management were also discussed.

Dr. Karande emphasized scalability, real-time analytics, data interoperability and security as key industry requirements. It proved highly informative and beneficial for the students.

Mr. Katkar shared real-world insights on how AI is transforming B2B digital marketing from predictive analytics and automated ad targeting to personalized customer engagement.
