An interactive session on "Design Thinking for Innovation and Problem Solving" was conducted for the MCA students of MET Institute of Computer Science by Dr. Vaishali Kulkarni, Dean, MET Institute of PGDM on 1st August 2026. The session aimed to introduce students to the principles and applications of Design Thinking, an approach widely adopted by leading organizations to solve complex problems through creativity and user-centric innovation.

Dr. Kulkarni, who holds a PhD in Knowledge Management and is a KPMG Design Thinking Certified Practitioner as well as Harvard certified in Disruptive Strategy, shared practical insights through interactive discussions and real-world examples. The session encouraged students to think creatively, collaborate effectively, and develop innovative solutions, preparing them with industry-relevant skills essential for their future careers.

MET Institute of Computer Science actively participated in the "Nasha Mukt Janjagruti Abhiyan – Mumbai 2026" by administering the anti-drug pledge to its students, faculty, and staff through the live telecast organized by the Government of Maharashtra and the University of Mumbai.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encourage a healthy, responsible, and drug-free lifestyle among youth. Participants pledged to stay away from addictive substances, promote awareness within society, and contribute towards building a safe and addiction-free community, reaffirming MET ICS's commitment to social responsibility and holistic student development.

As part of the Ashadhi Ekadashi celebrations, MET Institute of Computer Science (MET ICS) organized an AI/Digital Poster Competition for its students on 25th July 2027. The competition was themed "Wari: An Indian Knowledge System in Motion," aimed to introduce students to the rich philosophy and traditions of the Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) through the cultural heritage of the Warkari movement. By integrating Artificial Intelligence and digital design with traditional knowledge, students explored how technology can preserve, promote, and communicate India's intangible cultural heritage.

Dressed in traditional Warkari attire, participants presented innovative posters that reflected creativity, cultural awareness, and technological innovation. The competition fostered a deeper appreciation of Indian traditions while encouraging students to apply modern digital tools for cultural preservation. Posters were evaluated based on originality, thematic relevance, visual appeal, and the effective integration of culture with technology, making the event both educational and culturally enriching.

An interactive session titled "Dear ____" was conducted for the MCA students of MET Institute of Computer Science by Dr. Priya Menon, Director, MET Institute of Mass Media, on 25th July 2026. The session focused on the significance of gratitude and effective communication in fostering meaningful personal and professional relationships.

Through engaging activities and reflective exercises, students explored the values of appreciation, empathy, and thoughtful expression. The interactive session encouraged self-reflection, emotional intelligence, and positive interpersonal communication.
