IDEAtlas Workshop - Mumbai Living Lab
Krvia Masters Program in collaboration with ITC, University of Twente hosted the first interactive workshop for the IDEAtlas project. The primary objective of IDEAtlasis to develop, implement, validate and showcase advanced AI-based
methods to automatically map and characterize the spatial extent of slums from Earth Observation
(EO) data. This will support national and local governments as well as civil society to monitor progress
on SDG indicator 11.1.1 on the proportion of the urban population living in slums, informal
settlements or inadequate housing.
Multiple experts were invited to be part of the workshop to discuss the ideas of Informal settlement mapping through focused group discussions. Each group summarized the findings from the discussion which faciltated exchange of ideas and thoughts between groups, students and facilitators.
