🤝 CEMS Signs MoU with SPMP Kolkata for Skill Development

A proud milestone for CEMS! On 4 August 2026, the Centre of Excellence in Maritime & Shipbuilding (CEMS) signed an MoU with Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (SPMP Kolkata) under the CSR initiative to launch the Freight Forwarding Executive and Customs Documentation Executive training programmes.

The initiative will provide industry-oriented training to 25 unemployed youth of Kolkata, preparing them for careers in freight forwarding, customs documentation, logistics, and the maritime sector.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Shri Chandan Chatterjee, Secretary, SPMP Kolkata, Cdr. Gopi Krishna Sivvam, COO, CEMS, along with the teams from CEMS and SPMP Kolkata.

We sincerely thank Shri Samrat Rahi, Deputy Chairman, Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, for his visionary leadership and unwavering support in promoting skill development through this CSR initiative.

Together, we are committed to empowering youth and building a skilled workforce for the logistics and maritime industries.
