🌟 Celebrating the Inauguration of SPJIMR's PGPDM - Batch 27! 🌟
A truly momentous occasion as we officially inaugurate Batch 27 of our SPJIMR's Post Graduate Programme In Development Management (PGPDM)!
As India’s only internationally accredited Development Management Programme, the PGPDM continues to empower professionals to drive impactful social change by blending academic excellence with real-world learning.
This occasion was graced by our esteemed Chief Guest, Shri Sachin Shende, Regional Director of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Nagpur.
He shared several stories from the RBI office on his on the ground experiences promoting entrepreneurship and development promoting Micro Small Medium Enterprise. He highlighted why development professionals must focus on capable intermediaries to overcome the gap between government business and society.
Shri Sachin Shende said “It’s not only about lighting the lamp at the inaugural event, but it is about lighting the intent; intent is good, but it must be backed by discipline, skills, and capable intermediaries.” He congratulated the new joinees for taking an important step to build their capacity which he thought is very crucial in designing and strengthening the capable intermediataries at scale.
We were honoured to have Dean Prof. Varun Nagraj and the Chairperson of the PGPDM programme join us in welcoming the new cohort. In his address, Dean Prof. Varun Nagraj emphasized on how the PGPDM Batch 27 is a mix of participants coming from NGO, CSR, Corporate and Government on how non-profit organisations must cherish this diversity, and celebrate each other's accomplishments, learn from each other and contribute where there is a possibility.
In his welcome address, Chairperson Prof. Tanojkumar Meshram, Ph.D. highlighted that “PGPDM classroom is a safe and liberating space where education transcends technical skills to shape your worldview, ensuring that nothing you learn is purely theoretical—it is grounded in reality and designed for sustainable, real-world change."He emphasized how the PGPDM's curriculum and pedagogy emphasises the emancipatory potential of education.
With 50% female participants, representation from 13 Indian states, and an average of eight years' experience, this cohort embodies the commitment and vision needed to drive equitable and sustainable change. We're proud to continue fostering leaders who will shape a better tomorrow.
