The wait is over! We are finally about to commence the Krittika Summer Projects exclusively for IIT Bombay freshies, which is an incredible opportunity to explore the world of astronomy and astrophysics and also get hands-on experience implementing some of the ideas learned.

This year’s KSP will be held in three phases - the lecture series, the learning phase and the projects. The tentative duration of the entire event is about 5 to 6 weeks, starting from 7th July.

The lectures will be given by renowned professors and experienced mentors working in astronomy and astrophysics. It will be a great opportunity to interact with them and know about the kind of research they are doing in these fields. Furthermore, the lectures given by guest professors will be open to all.

After this, the learning phase will begin, where you will learn theory, python and more. A project assigned will be one of the various problem statements designed based on the knowledge gained in the previous two phases. Details about the projects and their assignment process will be shared soon.

Note that there are no prerequisites for any of the phases and it is free of cost.
Let the journey begin! Start by filling the registration form here: https://tinyurl.com/fKSPreg

Hello everyone,

The long-awaited Orientation for the Institute Summer Technical Activities is here. Join in to find out what people have done in the past, and more importantly, what you could do in the future. The summers are your chance to develop your skills, boost your productivity and expand the horizons of your knowledge.

To start off your quest for tech excellence, we will be having the Institute Technical Summer Activities, where you can pursue your own projects in an ITSP, polish and hone your dev skills in SoC, or venture into your topic of choice in SoS.

Due to the shifted timelines of the semester and its online nature, choice of projects will be more software and simulation based and the bulk of the work will be completed in-sem. However, since this is not the first time that initiatives have been held online (circa Summers 2020 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯), rest assured we have a renewed timeline to ensure that you don’t miss out on anything.

So, get ready and gear up for a fruitful summer (or rather semester+summer) and join in for the orientations tomorrow!
