"I landed in a new city filled with apprehension and curiosity, one slightly more than the other. I had always wanted to stay in the city where dreams come true. But the minute I laid eyes on this huge and striking structure which happened to be my college, I felt a sense of happiness inside me. I stood right in the middle of the quad, looking around, trying to capture every second. Somewhere deep within my heart, I knew that I would stay.
However, it was not the college alone that made me fall in love with mumbai, but the people in it. I met few of the most genuine and carefree people I know. From screaming our lungs during the matches held at the quad to being shooed away by the security while attempting to take a picture, from being part of fests to meet wonderful people to being able to have a sleepover in the college itself during Janfest (2nd picture), from laughing in between, during and after classes, Xavier’s and it’s people hold a special place in my heart.
The exuberance that is resonated by our lively foyer to the much needed silence that the reference library provides taught me and shaped me into who I am. And of course staying back, not just for extra lectures, but to finish conversations, listen to open mic, watch the sky turn hues from blue to pink to pitch black, St Xavier’s lived up to its motto of being a way of life.
Cheers to the college that gave me few of my closest friends, introduced me to this life and gave me a whole lot of memories." - Leya Sam, .sam
